There are a few key secrets that players should know about the Revenant Kingdom, especially the Prince's Edition. These include references to the previous game, to gaining new citizens in the kingdoms of Ni No Kuni. Here are a few that might have escaped some players' notice

9 The Kingmakers' Trials Reference Wrath Of The White Witch

The Kingmaker's Trials in the Revenant Kingdom include three puzzles and a fight, which Evan must pass in order to earn the Kingmaker's approval. The puzzle levels spell out a familiar story: the plot of Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch. This can be overlooked, as players don't need to have picked up the first game to be able to play the second.

The three levels show the progression of a story featuring a boy, a fairy, a harpist, and a monster, among other characters. The statues on the levels must be visited in the right order, according to a book laid out for Evan. This order correlates to the story perfectly.

8 Trophies For Quest Completion

Something that players may not know (or may not even find out while playing), is that within the trophy achievements for Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, there are four different trophies for completing side quests. These range from fulfilling one quest, to all 150.

The "A Bit On The Side" trophy is awarded to the player for completing their first side quest, then the "Side-Tracked" trophy comes after the completion of 50. When players double this number to 100, the "Beside Yourself" trophy is earned, and finally, the "No Downside" platinum trophy is given after 150 quests are taken care of. However, players will need to keep doing more if they want to unlock every possible character in the game.

7 The Player Can Fight The Kingmakers Again...And Again

The feisty Kingmakers make quite an impact on the game. But, fans may not know that they can go a bit Monster Hunter and fight them again. Fighting the four Kingmakers littered around Ni No Kuni will continue to level up the party members, and they will drop valuable loot every time they're defeated. The four Kingmakers can be found in exactly the same place after the main story as where they were located during it.

These fights can add further game content, as each battle adds 5 levels onto the Kingmaker's level. Starting at level 50 and scaling up to 120, these big monsters provide a challenging aspect for players who want to prove themselves in combat.

6 Do Take Candy From This Stranger

Hidden in Jumblewoods in the Heartlands Region of Ni No Kuni, is an unassuming merchantman. However, players will not want to miss this opportunity. Standing in the woods is Mr. Higglesworth, a human man with a Higgledy-shaped helmet. He asks for ten pebbles at a time.

By handing over ten hard-earned pebbles, players will be gifted with one piece of candy. These candies can be used to raise stats during battles, which can give a huge advantage. This secretive man is a savior for some players' party member set-ups.

5 Side Quests Can Earn New Citizens

Within the game, there are lots of options for gaining new recruits to kingdoms that have been created or taken over by Evan and his friends. A lot of these citizens are found by doing certain side-quests obtained throughout the Revenant Kingdom. These new faces come in all shapes and sizes, from Grimalkin, to humans, to Merfolk, and more.

Some citizens can only be obtained after the main game is beaten, or have other quests that need to be completed first. It is recommended to aim to finish these quests first, as new members of the civilizations can often add benefits or fulfill jobs within the cities.

4 There Is A Tenth Dreamer's Door

Most of the Dreamer's Doors are tied to a specific side-quest in Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. However, some players may not know that there is in fact a tenth door. This Door leads to another Maze, and even earns an Achievement called "Dream Big" when players complete all ten.

The secret Dreamer's Door is hidden away on the Faraway Isle east of Broadleaf town. This last maze is hard, however, and players are recommended to reach at least level 85 before attempting it. This in itself can be an arduous task, as the main story only gets players to level 70 — the rest needs to be done by grinding boss fights after the end of the game.

3 Blue Chests Can Be Opened

Anyone that has played Ni No Kuni will have come across those pesky blue chests. Eagerly running up to them, players expect to be able to pop them straight open, though this is sadly not the case. Never fear, there is a way to reap their sweet benefits — so make sure to keep a note of where these chests appear.

After reaching the Kingdom building section of the game, players should construct the Spellworks in Evermore as soon as possible, and then level up the kingdom and the Spellworks itself to level 3. After this, a specific spell development known as Spring Lock becomes available. This is the proverbial key to the blue chests, which can be nimbly pried open with the use of the spell.

2 All Possible Party Members Gain EXP

In most games, if a prospective member is not used often, then they will not gain experience or level up outside of battle. In Ni No Kuni, even if a fighter is not participating in a battle, they will still receive an amount of EXP and will level up passively. This saves a lot of time, and means players do not need to grind levels for all different members. Unlike other games, there is no need to activate an item or a buff in order for this effect to activate.

Interestingly, once the kingdoms are upgraded, it brings perks to this already appreciated system. Bringing the level of the kingdoms to level 2 and beyond means that party members earn even more EXP when in and out of battle.
