This week Level-5 released exciting new information about the gameplay within the highly anticipated game Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. On top of that, the developer revealed that it should take players 40 hours (on average) to complete the main story, assuming there is some deviation for side quests.

The games within the Ni no Kuni franchise are popular JPRGs with memorable game design and a range of endearing characters. Therefore, the substantial playtime of 40 hours may offer the players an extensive experience within the world of Ni no Kuni.

Although fans may be hesitant about the new aspects of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, the generous playtime suggests that there will be numerous side quests, new systems, and extensions of the kingdom mode alongside the main campaign. The new elements of the game will include a building mode system that allows players to recruit characters as participants within their own team in order to enhance the diversity of Evan's kingdom.

This system should become a crucial foundation for the player's ability to obtain strong accessories and achieve powerful magic. However, Akihiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5, indicates that, despite these new aspects within the game, old fans will be pleased by the emergence of familiar elements.

Akihiro Hino has also provided further information about the game's release on PC, which will be a first for the Nino no Kuni franchise. Additionally, a potential remaster of the original Nino no Kuni has been rumored as a possibility for the PS4.

The new elements that have been introduced within the game can be interpreted as a form of modernization that some players of the franchise believe was necessary. The removal of the familiar system will eradicate the Pokemon-esque features from the game and deliver fans a more hands-on experience within the interactive worlds.

However, the sequel will undoubtedly retain the beauty and nostalgia encompassed within the earlier games to provide the player with a familiar and yet updated version of Nino No Kuni.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom releases March 23, 2018 for PC and PS4.
