Thanks to the impending additions of The Callisto Protocol and day one game Still Wakes the Deep, June 2024 is set to be a particularly exciting month for horror fans with Xbox Game Pass. One of the best parts of Xbox Game Pass is the sheer variety it brings to the table. Nearly every genre one can think of is represented to varying capacities on Xbox Game Pass, and that includes the horror genre.

Vanilla Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play horror games like The Evil Within and its sequel, while those who are signed up for the Ultimate tier have even more horror games to choose from. Most notably, this includes the original Dead Space trilogy as well as the critically-acclaimed Dead Space remake. Soon, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have even more horror games to check out, as two more horror experiences are scheduled to join the service as part of the June 2024 lineup.

Xbox Game Pass Confirms Another Day One Game for July 18

Microsoft confirms the release date for a major third-party video game that's set to launch directly into Xbox Game Pass on day-one.

The two new Xbox Game Pass horror games coming in June 2024 are The Callisto Protocol on June 13 and Still Wakes the Deep. The Callisto Protocol is meant to be a spiritual successor to the Dead Space series, but with a greater focus on melee combat. The Callisto Protocol earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, but it has been praised for its impressive visuals and creepy horror atmosphere. Still Wakes the Deep, meanwhile, is an unknown quantity. Developed by The Chinese Room, the studio behind Dear Esther, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Still Wakes the Deep is a first-person horror game that takes place on an oil rig.

New Xbox Game Pass Games for June 2024

  • Firework (PC) - Available now
  • Rolling Hills (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - Available Now
  • Octopath Traveler (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - Available Now
  • Octopath Traveler 2 (Cloud/PC/Xbox Series X) - Available Now
  • Depersonalization (PC) - June 12
  • Isonzo (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - June 13
  • The Callisto Protocol (Cloud/Consoles/PC) - June 13
  • Still Wakes the Deep (Cloud/PC/Xbox Series X) - June 18

Whereas The Callisto Protocol is an older title, Still Wakes the Deep is a day one release, which may make it especially exciting for horror fans. Horror fans will be able to play The Callisto Protocol on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the Cloud when it comes to Game Pass on June 13, but Still Wakes the Deep is skipping Xbox One, so Game Pass subscribers should keep that in mind.

The Callisto Protocol and Still Wakes the Deep coming to Xbox Game Pass should be huge for horror fans on the platform. It wasn't too long ago that the Amnesia games were removed from Game Pass, so it's great to see more horror titles added to help fill the void left by that popular franchise.
