While New Tales From the Borderlands is not a particularly long game, it does have some replay value. Aside from unlocking all the outfits, unlocking all the achievements/trophies, and seeing other endings, New Tales From the Borderlands players have several reasons to come back for another playthrough. But to expand the experience further, Gearbox also included a series of collectibles for players to find.

These collectibles are called Vaultlanders, and they are figurines of various popular characters from the entire Borderlands series. Excluding Pre-Order bonuses and Vaultlanders acquired through Shift Codes, there are 16 Vaultlanders that can be obtained. This guide will show players where these Vaultlanders can be found.

Vaultlanders in Episode 1

There are three Vaultlanders in the first episode.

• The first one is the easiest to obtain, as Anu gets it during a cutscene when she is trying to get down to Promethea.
• The second Vaultlander can be found during the free-roam section, where New Tales From the Borderlands players have to fix the radio. Just before fixing the radio, players should look around in the piles of garbage nearby the taco truck. Among the garbage is a figurine of a Claptrap.
• The third Vaultlander can be found under a pile of rubble during the free-roam section with Fran. Once players destroy the rubble, they will be able to claim the Amara figurine.

Vaultlander in Episode 2

Unlike the previous episode, there is only one Vaultlander to be found. The Zane Vaultlander can only be obtained if players win the first Vaultlander Battle. The first battle is a mandatory part of the story, so New Tales From the Borderlands players can't miss it.

Vaultlanders in Episode 3

There are two Vaultlanders in the third episode. They can both be obtained during the free-roam sections with Anu near the beginning and the end of the episode. However, in order to obtain these Vaultlanders, players will need to defeat Superfan to get them. These encounters are optional, so it is very easy to miss them if players focus too much on the main objective rather than exploring.

Vaultlanders in Episode 4

The fourth episode of New Tales From the Borderlands has four Vaultlanders for players to find.

• The first one can be found during the free-roam section with Anu. Players should look at the desk at the end of the room, and they will find a Vaultlander figurine of Maya.
• The second and third Vaultlanders can be found during the free-roam section with Fran. If players look inside the cash register, they will find a Vaultlander in there instead of cash. Before doing anything else, players should look inside the trunk of the car. This will trigger the next Vaultlander battle against Superfan, and if players win, they get a Vaultlander. Superfan shows up near the end of Episode 4 as part of the story, and if players beat him, they will get another Vaultlander.

Vaultlanders in Episode 5

Excluding the ones related to the ending, there are two Vaultlanders in the fifth and final episode of New Tales From the Borderlands.

• The first one is found during the free-roam section with Octavio. On the floor is a Vaultlander figurine, and if players interact with it, they will fight Superfan one last time. If they win, players get a figurine of Handsome Jack.
• The second Vaultlander is a little more tricky to get as it is involved a choice that players can make. When the group finds Anu and Stapleface, players must choose to tackle Stapleface. If they choose this option, she will give players a Vaultlander.

The Remaining Vaultlanders

The final four Vaultlanders are obtained depending on several factors in the ending. The Vaultlander figurines of Lilith, Ellie, and Fiona are obtained based on how high the relationship between the characters was at the end. If the relationship was at 50% or higher, players will obtain a Vaultlander for each relationship that met that criteria.

The Vaultlander figurine of Zer0 can only be obtained if the team earned a Skateboard score of 75% or higher. If players get all 16 Vaultlander figurines, they will unlock the achievement/trophy for collecting all Vaultlanders.
