PlayStation Plus free monthly games for August 2022 are now available to subscribers worldwide. PS Plus members across all three tiers can play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Little Nightmares at no extra cost.

These are a part of Sony’s offerings for the Essential tier, but the lineup for Extra and Premium gets revealed in the middle of the month. In July, Sony added Stray, Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and various Assassin’s Creed titles to the library of games available to members in the Extra tier. Now, a new leak reveals that an AAA game with a focus on co-op is coming to PS Plus Extra this month.

According to Dealabs, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is coming to PS Plus Extra in August 2022. Wildlands will be a part of Ubisoft+ Classics, a new subscription service consisting of older Ubisoft games, which is included in PS Plus Extra. It should be noted that Premium members have access to all the benefits of the Extra tier, so they too can play Ghost Recon Wildlands at no extra cost whenever it joins PS Plus.

While every leak should be taken with a grain of salt, Dealabs has proven to be a reliable source with an impressive track record. It typically leaks the PS Plus lineup of each month usually a day or two before the official announcement. This leak comes as a post made by the writer in the comment section of the article detailing August’s free games.

Ghost Recon Wildlands received mixed reviews upon its launch in 2017. Ubisoft released a sequel in 2019 called Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which got even lower scores from critics. As Wildlands is over five years old, it’s not surprising to see it added to Ubisoft+ Classics this month. Ubisoft launched the service with 27 titles and promised to increase this number to over 50 by the end of the year. So, similar to last month’s addition of seven Assassin’s Creed games, Ghost Recon Wildlands may be one of several games Ubisoft plans to release on PS Plus this month.

Coincidentally, Ghost Recon Wildlands was added to Xbox Game Pass at the beginning of the month and members across consoles, PC, and the cloud can play the game at no extra cost. Wildlands seems to be the marquee AAA game from August’s Xbox Game Pass lineup, but subscribers can also play titles like Two Point Campus, Expeditions: Rome, and Turbo Golf Racing this month.
