Those who were heartbroken when the Nintendo 3DS XL Super NES Edition was released exclusively in Europe will be overjoyed to learn this charming console is heading to the US.

The device won't look like it did in Europe, as the two consoles had different appearances for each region. The US version of the handheld will sport the classic blue and grey motif we know and love. Its cover is designed to look like the top of the system, with those clunky power, reset, and eject switches painted on. Inside, the look is a little more subdued, merely coloring the controls.

This special edition 3DS is currently going for $199.99 and will be shipped on its release date next month, November 27. To continue the theme, this version of the handheld also comes with a download code for the SNES version of Super Mario Kart.

These SNES editions are clearly meant to continue milking gamers' nostalgia, much like Nintendo has been doing by bringing back the retro consoles in miniature form. The SNES Classic went on sale last month and, to no one's surprise, it sold out almost immediately, which has become the standard for these devices. Supply just cannot keep up with demand, and many consumers see Nintendo doing little to remedy the situation. Those desperate for one can still find them in online marketplaces like eBay, but they can expect to pay through the nose for it.

In other 3DS news, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon are releasing next month. These are more-or-less remakes of the original Sun and Moon, but with a hearty amount of extra content – the most exciting of which is the ability for trainers to leave the Alola region. It has been confirmed that two new destinations include the world of the Ultra Beasts and a world inhabited by legendary Pokemon, but there might be some additional undisclosed locales as well. It has been also announced by Nintendo that these Pokemon titles will be the last main games on the 3DS.
