Today, Fairyship Games officially unveiled a new title called Testament: The Order of the High Human. Based on the announcement trailer and the official description, Testament: The Order of the High Human seems to take its inspiration from fantasy role-playing titles such as the Elder Scrolls series, while utilizing Metroidvania mechanics.

Fairyship Games is the development studio behind Testament: The Order of the High Human and is also working on another upcoming title called Shame Legacy, which is due to release imminently on May 30. Although, the two games seem to be set within completely different genres, with Shame Legacy being a first-person survival horror game.

In Testament: The Order of the High Human players will assume the role of Aran, who is the guardian of the realm and the king of the High Humans within the post-apocalyptic fantasy land of Tessara. The narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating betrayal by Aran's own brother, Arva. As a result of this treachery, Aran finds himself devoid of his once formidable powers, while the land of Tessara is plagued by hordes of menacing creatures. The non-linear style of the game’s narrative claims that it will allow players the freedom to shape their own adventure, making choices that will have real consequences.

One of the player’s main goals in the game will be to gain XP and upgrade the main character in order to restore his lost powers. This XP will be gained by taking part in the game’s main story and side quests, of which there are 40 in total. As player explore the vast land of Tessara, they will be able to explore areas in the environment which may hide collectible quest items and secrets.

In order to battle the plethora of monstrosities that inhabit Tessara, players will be able to harness 15 unique magic abilities, allowing them to cast various spells to help even the odds. Sword combat is also apparently a prominent aspect of the game, and players will also have access a range of 15 potions, each with its own distinct effects. Additionally, a versatile bow with four different types of arrows will add a strategic depth to combat encounters.

No release date was given for Testament: The Order of the High Human, however it is currently available to wishlist on Steam, and it will apparently come to both PC and consoles. Wishlisting the game will allow interested parties to stay up to date with the latest news, announcements, and release information regarding the game as soon as they become available.

Testament: The Order of the High Human is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
