The new trailer for F9: The Fast Saga has been released and the family is back together in the ninth installment in the extremely popular Fast and Furious franchise. The members are looking ready to get out of their hiatus and head towards their next “wild mission”, with a new threat on the block.

The trailer is loaded with over-the-top stunts that fans of the franchise love, multiple crashes, witty dialogue, and flying cars. Similar to the first trailer of the film, which was released in January 2020, the F9 members are seen in the middle of some family drama when Dom’s brother Jakob returns and is seen causing trouble.

The official Twitter account for the film’s franchise teased the release of the trailer on Tuesday, by sharing several animated character posters, featuring some of the fans’ favorite members of the Fast and Furious family, including Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson’s Roman Pearce, Chris Bridges’ Tej Parker, Jordana Brewster’s Mia Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel’s Megan Ramsey, and Sung Kang’s Han Lue. And of course, joining the cast is John Cena’s Jakob Toretto.

F9 will see Charlize Theron’s Cypher return, who was the main villain in the eighth installment in the franchise The Fate of the Furious. She will be seen pitting the two brothers against each other, urging Jakob to take down Dom’s crew. The film will also see Dom’s sister, Mia, return after an absence in the previous movie. Additionally, another fan-favorite character, Han, is seemingly being resurrected, after his character was believed dead in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, the third installment in the franchise. It is still a mystery how the character is alive, but it would be a reunion worth watching.

F9: The Fast Saga has faced several delays due to the pandemic. While the film was originally meant to release on May 22, 2020, the premiere was pushed back by a year with a new release date of April 2021 set for its arrival. But, this wasn’t the only delay, as the film was later moved to a May release, and has now settled for a June 25, 2021 premiere. Justin Lin marks his return to the franchise as director of F9: The Fast Saga. He has previously directed 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2009’s Fast and Furious 4, 2011’s Fast Five, and 2013’s Fast and Furious 6
