On Wednesday, the hit anime Demon Slayer's official Twitter posted a second trailer for the upcoming season, along with a new key visual, a preview of the opening song, and a release date for the first episode. It will premier on April 9th at 11:55pm JST, with a one-hour special first episode. In less than 24 hours, the video already had over 1.5 million views, 82,000 likes, and almost 40,000 retweets.Demon Slayer follows the story of Tanjiro, a young man who hunts demons while trying to find a way to turn his younger sister, who is also a demon, back into a human - and avenge the rest of their murdered family. This latest season follows the Swordsmith Village arc of the manga, picking up where the previous season left off. Demon Slayer first premiered in 2019, and since has had a feature length movie, and another season that covered the Entertainment District arc and Mugen Train arc.RELATED: Are Demon Slayer's Elemental Effects Canon?The new trailer shows some shots of the main characters, and a few of the upcoming Hashira that are going to be important in the coming season. The main two, Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito, also feature on the new key image. So far, the seasons have been focusing on one or two of the Hashira to drive along Tanjiro's story, and this will be the first time that the Love and Mist Hashira get significant screen time. The action scenes in the latest trailer are broken up by visuals of a sword being forged - it is the Swordsmith Village, after all!

On February 3rd, the last two episodes of the Entertainment District arc and the first episode of the new Swordsmith Village arc premiered at select cinemas in Japan under the name World Tour Screenings: Demon Slayer: The Upper Ranks Gather and Onward to the Swordsmith Village. Despite opening at only 418 cinemas, the film ranked number one that weekend in Japan. It will release theatrically in North America on Friday, and will also screen in 95 other countries.

So far, both seasons of Demon Slayer and the internationally famous movie Mugen Train all featured music by LiSA in some capacity, with her opening for the first season "Gurunge" becoming a hit anime song overnight. This new season, however, will be a departure from the norm. The new opening song revealed in the trailer is "Kizuna no Kiseki" by MAN WITH A MISSION, who are famous for performing songs from My Hero Academia, Vinland Saga, and Golden Kamuy, and milet, who performs in Vinland Saga.

With only a little more than one month to go before the next season of Demon Slayer, everyone is starting to get excited. It will be one of the biggest anime of the Spring 2023 season, both in Japan and internationally. The manga finished back in May 2020, but knowing the ending does not stop fans from getting hyped up about the anime all the same. It's only a few more weeks before the otaku world is swamped in Demon Slayer once more, and we couldn't be more excited.
