NBA 2K24 fans will have a lot to celebrate on May 17, when the game's Season 7 makes its debut. Visual Concepts Austin has been rolling out regular updates for NBA 2K24 following its release in September 2023, and this batch will bring with it new rewards and content for MyCAREER and MyTEAM, along with some exclusive music tracks.

It's been a hard climb for NBA 2K24, which took the record for the worst-rated game on Steam during its launch month, largely due to players complaining about its abundance of microtransactions and lack of new content from the previous year's game. While it's still suffering from the slew of early Mostly Negative reviews on that platform, Visual Concepts has managed to elevate it out of the Bottom 10 with updates coming roughly every six weeks.

How NBA 2K25 Could Benefit from Implementing WNBA’s Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark is entering the WNBA with massive hype, and NBA 2K25 could benefit immensely from marketing her in the next game.

The announcement for the start date of Season 7 went public on both the official NBA 2K website and YouTube channel on May 15, just two days ahead of launch. Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray serves as the featured player for this season, receiving a 99 overall Pro Pass Dark Matter MyTEAM card as a reward for Pro Pass members, making him one of the best Point Guards in NBA 2K24. Other Pro Pass rewards included in Season 7 include a Premium Midnight Hydraulic Lowrider (New Gen), a Premium Hoverboard (Current Gen), a Portland Trail Blazers Douglas Fur mascot costume, and up to 45,000 in Virtual Currency (VC) rewards.

More Rewards Coming to NBA 2K24

For those who are playing without Pro Pass, Season 7 still has a lot of MyCAREER rewards to earn as they climb the ranks all the way up to Level 40. These start with the Season 7 Tee at level 1 and end with the Gold Floor Setter (New Gen) and Extra Badge Point (Current Gen) at the top of the rewards ladder, with more cosmetics and other rewards thrown in along the way, like Wearable Mascots at Level 20, a Drone with Teleportation Technology at Level 30, and a Championship Belt at Level 35. The game provides linked seasonal rewards for both MyCAREER and MyTEAM every time a player levels up during a season, so even NBA 2K24 beginners who are just jumping into the game are able to rack up rewards faster than in previous years.

There are also a lot of new cards coming to MyTEAM mode, topping off with a Level 40 Dark Matter Nikola Jokić. Other notable player and coach cards coming to the mode include Cam Thomas, Dillon Brooks, Avery Johnson, Jerami Grant, and Hall of Famer Jerry West. Along with these improvements to NBA 2K24, Season 7 will add 14 new music tracks to the game through the Def Jam Recordings x NBA 2K24 album. Four of these tracks are exclusive to the game, coming from artists like Wale, 2 Chainz, and Dave East.
