The slam dunk in NBA 2K24 is incredibly satisfying, one of the big reasons for the game's popularity. Getting a jam over an opponent's head or on a breakaway feels incredible. Unfortunately, too many gamers run into the issue where their player pulls up and makes a simple layup or, even worse, a jumper.

Those who master dribbling will understand just how particular NBA 2K24 is about the controls. One thumbstick, trigger, or button not perfectly timed, aimed, or sequenced can result in something completely unexpected and undesired. Get some practice and become a slam dunk champion.

How To Dunk

NBA 2K24 Dunk During The MyCareer Intro

The first thing to do is to make sure the selected player can dunk. Look at their attributes and badges to determine what their standing and driving dunk scores are. Most of the highest-rated players can dunk but others can't. Some can dunk with a running start but can't dunk while standing. If the selected athlete won't dunk, this is often the issue.
