NBA 2K24 is the latest installment in the long-running sports-sim series. NBA 2K24 has improved on a lot of things compared to its predecessors, unfortunately, it has also done some things to negatively impact the community. The title currently has a rating of "Overwhelmingly Negative” on Steam, which dethroned Overwatch 2 as the worst-rated game on the platform. The reviews themselves are criticizing the title’s online mode along with microtransactions, which is the main area that players are frustrated with. With the bugs and glitches ruining the online experience for some, this upcoming patch promises to remedy this issue.

Dribbling and being a Playmaker in NBA 2K24 are effective ways to dominate the court, so fans are irritated that a steal glitch is present in the game. The glitch itself takes offensive players out of a dribble animation, automatically letting defenders steal the ball with ease. NBA 2K24’s Gameplay Director, Mike Wang, took to Twitter to respond to a thread stating that a fix will be implemented next patch. At this time, there is no release date for NBA 2K24’s 1.4 patch.

Since NBA 2K24’s 1.3 patch update, the developers reassured the community that more updates and changes to the game will be on the way. Given the reputation that the sports sim currently holds, 2K Sports is trying to do right by players in providing the best experience possible.

The title has also been under fire by the community regarding NBA 2K24’s MyCareer mode and the cost of VC it takes to level up. Not only that, but the title also has an increase in microtransactions, allowing players to spend more money on their characters. Players in the community have been vocal about this, as it feels like in order to compete with other online, players they have to buy VC.

As it stands, NBA 2K24 players are taking things one update at a time, starting with waiting for the upcoming 1.4 patch to fix the frustrating steal glitch. Until then, players will have to play MyCareer and level up their build in NBA 2K24 like normal, with this glitch included.

NBA 2K24 is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
