Centers in NBA 2K24 have mirrored the NBA in a sense. Once thought to be a slow-moving liability for several years, centers are now a position capable of playmaking, shooting, and defense, as much and even more than the point guard position.
The wrong build with a center feels like it's stuck in a bygone era. The time of waiting by the hoop and hoping for rebounds is over. Players can still hog all the rebounds and set screen for the pick and roll in NBA 2K24 but they are capable of doing even more with an improved build.

This speedy undersized center build is as powerful as it is fun to play. On offense, focus solely on setting a screen and then driving toward the net. If the screen knocked off the MyPlayer defender, then bolt toward the net and call for an alley-oop. This build will be faster than even the best centers in the game so plan on getting several alley-oop dunks with the Hall of Fame Aerial Wizard badge. Even if the defense stays on the MyPlayer, the roller will be completely open thanks to the 99 Strength and the Hall of Fame Brick Wall badge.
On defense, use the build's extra mobility. The Gold Anchor badge is great but the Hall of Fame Chase Down badge is even better. When breakaways happen, this center build is fast enough to pick up the slasher from behind and block the ball from behind.
Don't bother being a ball handler, but continue to set screens as often as possible. This strategy will drain energy from anybody who collides with the screen and can force opposing starters to the bench early. Finally, the perfect 99 Rebounding with the Hall of Fame Rebound Chaser and Boxout Beast badges assures that no opponent can grab more boards than this. Find a good team for a center to get plenty of offensive alley-oops and defensive blocks.
