It took a few months before NBA 2K22 gave players so much as a glimpse at Galaxy Opal cards. Back when Pink Diamond cards were considered tops in the game, Galaxy Opal seemed like it would break the game when it arrived. Well, they're here. And yes, they're game-breaking.

Playing against a team with even one Galaxy Opal card is bad news. Any more than that and opponents may start to quit the match before it starts. Not just any such card will do, though. NBA 2K22 has now released many cards with this designation, grabbing the best of the best is what the top-tier players are doing.

10 Reggie Theus

As is expected of any superior point guard, Reggie Theus comes equipped with an arsenal of the best playmaking badges in the game and he is at least gold or better for all of these badges. His shooting is good, mostly golds, but his secret sauce is finishing, matching the meta of the current game. Perfect scores on both offense and defense assure that no other upgrades will be needed from this position anytime soon.

9 Shaun Livingston

Shaun Livingston and Reggie Theus are appropriately neck-and-neck on this list. Both play the same position, both have perfect scores on offense and defense, and both have golds or better in all playmaking badges. Livingston will get the tiebreaker thanks to a single extra legendary badge. Unlike Theus, he's more of a shooter than a finisher with the best shooting badges possible, but he can do either reasonably well.

8 Mitchell Robinson

Look no further than Mitchell Robinson when it comes to shutting down opponents on defense. This interior defender has every badge on the defensive end, including all of the best defense/rebounding badges. Not only that, Robinson has all but two of these rated as legendary, the other two are gold. He's also a solid finisher and playmaker, but this is a remarkable fact that puts him toe-toe-toe with Dark Matter cards.

7 Andre Drummond

It's one thing to have all of the greatest finishing badges available, and something else to have them in legendary fashion. Andre Drummond is known for his defense and rebounding, which is ranked at a perfect 99. But it's his offense that shines on this particular card, meriting a matching perfect score to go along with those badges.

6 Serge Ibaka

For a power forward or center, the perfect 99 scores on both ends of the court speak for themselves. Serge Ibaka is a special case, however, since his offense isn't solely at the rim (though he's still amazing at throwing down posterizing dunks). He has all but two shooting badges at gold or better. This is especially fantastic for gamers who love to frustrate opponents with stretch bigs.

5 Larry Nance

Larry Nance is appropriately regarded as one of the best power forwards on defense to ever play the game. With a perfect 99 and gold or better ranking for every badge in that category, he doesn't disappoint on that end. He's a solid corner shooter but gets even stronger as he drives toward the paint. Players who love to keep the interior clear will love what Nance can do both outside and inside the arc.

4 Gordon Hayward

There are really only two things to say about Gordan Hayward to make players see why, when he's healthy, he's among the league's best small forwards. He's got all but one of the playmaking badges at gold or better. And he has every shooting badge at gold or better. Lethal with the ball or getting rid of the ball, opponents have no good answers for how to contain Hayword's potential to blow them out.

3 Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin is similar to Hayward in that, between the shooting and playmaking badges, he's got all but one badge and they're all gold or better. The difference here is the position he plays. This point guard knows no mercy, though he'll happily slip over to shooting guard for gamers that need some extra bombs and ball handling from that spot in the roster.

2 Domantas Sabonis

As the NBA matures, they're beginning to recognize that what makes the best centers so great is their ability to play as point guards too. Domantas Sabonis, a 6'11" is somehow listed as a point guard primarily. This creates the opportunity for total exploitation as this height is several inches above what most point guards are permitted to be. He's got an even distribution of his badges, so don't be afraid to move him from center to point guard and back again, he'll do either position just fine.

1 Nicolas Batum

Look at the number of badges. Does this look high? It should. This quantity is high enough to have all but three badges. Not only that, they're at gold level or higher. Nicholas Batum doesn't have any legendary badges in finishing, so it's best to keep him outside, but this focus on playmaking, shooting, and defense is seductive enough to have any gamer see his potential at either small forward or point guard.
