The best cards in NBA 2K22 are given the designation of Dark Matter. All of these cards are ranked at 99, the highest distinction in the game. These cards all have close to perfect 99 scores in both offense and defense, so there aren't going to be any glaring holes in their game.

To make the top ten of this list is saying something quite remarkable. Not only do these players all have perfect ratings, they also overwhelmingly have most of their badges ranked as legendary or better. Some of these cards, sitting at the top of NBA 2K22's list are, quite literally, perfect.

10 Hakeem Olajuwon

It feels criminal to have Hakeem Olajuwon as the lowest rank on any list, but the gap between the best of the best is very small. Ultimately, the other centers at this tier get a slight nod above him due to their height and wingspan. Olajuwon's is good, but not quite as long as theirs. He does have all the best defense/rebounding badges at legendary. Scratch that, he's got every single badge in the category at legendary, not just the best ones.

9 Joel Embiid

There is a reason that Joel Embiid is considered by every analyst alive to be one of the best centers in the NBA today. The only badge that Embiid lacks is the Tear Dropper badge, everything else is at gold or higher. His split among legendary badges is extremely well-balanced, so don't be afraid to have him pass it around or drop a three-ball every so often.

8 David Robinson

Like Embiid, David Robison has every badge at gold or higher except Tear Dropper. Like Olajuwon, Robinson has perfect legendary rankings on every badge in the defensive category. By their powers combined, and by adding an inch or two in height and wingspan, Robinson edges out his fellow centers that have this badge split.

7 Tim Duncan

At 6'11" and a 7'2" wingspan, Tim Duncan would be a fantastic center. Switch him to power forward and he's borderline unstoppable. He was always one of the best power forwards to grace the court since he could shoot over his competition and prevent his competition from shooting over him. Those two facts still remain true for his card in NBA 2K22.

6 Giannis Antetokounmpo

Take everything about Tim Duncan, add one point in speed and two inches to the wingspan and gamers have created Giannis Antetokounmpo. Incredibly, this card is able to be used as a small forward and that is strongly recommended for the size and strength advantage. He still retains his perfect speed and acceleration, so he can move at max speed with his ridiculous frame, making him better than the best small forwards around.

5 Bill Russell

Everyone below Bill Russell is missing at least one badge. Russell is the first on this list to have every single badge at gold or legendary. The best finishing badges? Oh, Russell has those at legendary status because he has every badge in the category at legendary in addition to the defense/rebounding badges. At 6'10", Russell is undersized compared to his competition, but his 7'4" wingspan makes up the difference.

4 LeBron James

LeBron James gets the edge over Bill Russell because of his height, 6'9", as he is much more in line with small forwards of this caliber. Other than that, James is quite comparable, since he's got legendary badges in all defensive and finishing categories. Looking at his attributes, James has 99s in all of them except for ball handling and free throws, which rest at a sky-high 97. He's the sole representative of primary small forwards on this list, but he's all anyone could ask for.

3 Wilt Chamberlain

Among the top three players, all of them have 99s in all their attributes and have legendary badges across the board with no gaps. So how is it possible to rank these players against each other? It's really not fair, but this is an attempt. Wilt Chamberlain is tied for the fourth-highest wingspan at 8'0" which feels almost like somebody sat on the keyboard when typing in the score.

2 Dirk Nowitzki

The second of the three perfect players, Dirk Nowitzki towers above other power forwards with a 7'1" height advantage. But that's not the only thing. Nowitzki's shooting animations are often considered among the best in the game, frequently used by players when they craft their own MyPlayer. Put the best shooting badges around and mix it with a sweet stroke and this is a recipe for disaster against a standard power forward.

1 Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson obviously has the best playmaking badges at legendary along with the rest of the badges, so he's able to do everything a point guard can do at the highest level. Height advantage has played a large role on this list, but nowhere is it starker than at this spot. At 6'9", Johnson is within the range it takes to play center. At point guard, he dwarfs his competition while maintaining perfect attributes.
