The Last of Us Part 2 has had a contrasting reception and while some players have felt the game was tonally off compared to the original game, others have enjoyed the new experience. The Last of Us 2 has been critically acclaimed by critics even though it has had a mixed fan reaction, and despite some fans wanting elements explained it seems that players will have to settle with what they have for now. In an interview, the director of the game, Neil Druckmann, explained the DLC situation.

The game experienced damaging leaks prior to its release and some players had made up their mind about The Last Of Us 2 from the leaked material. Yet the game that is set in a dystopian future and focuses on primarily narrative drama has still managed to sell well, and plenty of players have had positive things to say about it. The fan base that has enjoyed the experience will likely like to see more content but it seems that they will not get any additional narrative beats in the game.

In an interview with the Kinda Funny Gamecast, Druckmann responded to queries about upcoming DLC "No, with Last of Us I think we had some season pass or something that said ahead of time we have some story DLC - no there's no plans for that." Many players who did not understand the decisions of some of the characters in the game may be disappointed that these points will not be filled by a DLC that details their journey in the four-year space between the games. However, this does not necessarily mean that there won't be any new content for The Last of Us 2.

The last of us 2 wont have DLC

There is a possibility that multiplayer may come to the game alongside other updates that could add to the longevity of the game. Yet many players enjoy The Last of Us games because of their moving stories and with that in mind, many would like to see more narrative detail come to the recent game. Many players are still left with questions after finishing The Last of Us 2 and they may be disappointed that they won't have answers delivered to them through new content.

With Druckmann seeing no need for another The Last of Us game, it seems that players may have finished the narrative of Ellie and Joel for good. This may sadden players who have enjoyed the moving stories, but they will take comfort in the fact that they can always return to the titles and experience the journey again.

The Last of Us 2 is available to play now, exclusively for PS4.
