Part of the appeal for many PC gaming enthusiasts is being able to build a PC from scratch. Former NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., has seemingly gotten on this trend, sharing a custom built PC with fans over social media.

With 2020 coming to a close, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s new PC build is a pleasant surprise for both PC gamers and NASCAR fans alike. The son of late NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt has finally built himself his own PC, despite being a long-time gamer. While the PC build is quite the statement away from the NASCAR Heat 5 coming to PlayStation 4, it was a fun build for the retired NASCAR racer. Earnhardt expresses in his tweet that he has always enjoyed gaming on PCs, and that this hobby started all the way back since the mid-90s. He also remarks that he had learned how to upgrade computer hardware over the years, but has finally built his own PC only recently.

The retired NASCAR racer says that the entire build went “really smooth” and that he doesn’t mind the occasional hiccup. That being said, his new PC primarily sports a red theme, with mixes of blue lights for the fans and the cooler. Contrasting this to other racers and their own controversies, Earnhardt’s successful PC build is one of the better news in 2020. According to Earnhardt, IT-related work is a fun profession, “helping others with their own systems is something I enjoy”. He even further states that if he did not go into driving, he would have found himself in some IT type of work.

The PC is covered in a transparent glass case with over six fans and a digital cooling system. Although the specs of the PC remain unclear, the graphics card looks like a GeForce RTX 3080 or 3090. It isn’t a big surprise to know that Earnhardt is a massive gamer, especially one who’s more passionate about PC gaming. Unlike consoles, PCs are much more customizable, which better fits the personality of someone who’s grown around customized racing cars. With that said, Earnhardt joins Henry Cavill as a famous figure who’s built his own PC

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the son of Dale Earnhardt, a NASCAR legend who unfortunately passed in the racetrack due to a collision. Dale Jr., who retired in 2017, is considered NASCAR royalty because of his father, who won 76 NASCAR Cup Series victories. Although his son does not sport a similarly impressive record, Earnhardt won the hearts of his and his father’s fans with his humble personality in addition to a few wins of his own.
