Naruto has some of the most powerful abilities in anime. There is no shortage of strong and unique abilities, which is one of the many reasons for the anime's success. One such technique is the Yin-Yang Release; it is the combination of Yin Release and Yang Release.
Unlike the five basic natures that can be learned over time, it is not possible to learn Yin-Yang Release, which makes it rare. Only a handful of characters in Naruto have access to use Yin-Yang Release. It can be used to nullify all sorts of Ninjutsu and it can also bypass the effects of the Impure World Reincarnation, which is a forbidden jutsu. With that in mind, here are the known users of Yin-Yang Release in Naruto.
7 Asura Otsutsuki
Asura Otsutsuki was the youngest son of Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Unlike his elder brother, Indra, Asura did not possess the same level of talent. Most of Hagoromo's followers believed that Indra would inherit his father's position, however, the Sage of Six Paths bestowed Asura with the position.
While Asura wasn't as skillful as Indra, the former achieved greatness with hard work. Hagoromo gifted his powers to Asura, which granted him access to Six Paths powers, and enabled him to use the Six Paths Sage Mode and the truth-seeking balls. With his newfound power, Asura was able to defeat Indra Otsutsuki.
6 Hagoromo Otsutsuki
Also known as the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki is arguably the strongest character in Naruto. At a young age, Hagoromo rebelled against his mother, Kaguya. With his brother's help, Hagoromo managed to seal their mother and brought her reign of terror to an end.
Hagoromo was the best user of Yin-Yang Release as he was able to combine it with his Creation of All Things technique. This effectively allowed him to create and breathe life into a form out of nothingness. With this power, Hagoromo was able to split the Ten-Tails into nine tailed beasts. Later on, Hagoromo passed some of his power down to Naruto Uzumaki.
5 Hamura Otsutsuki
Hamura Otsutsuki was the younger brother of Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Being Kaguya's offspring, Hamura was born with an immensely powerful chakra. He aided Hagoromo in his attempt to overthrow their mother and bring peace throughout the world.
Like his brother, Hamura too was able to use Six Paths Sage Mode. This greatly boosted Hamura's strength as a fighter and enabled him to fight Kaguya for months. Hamura was also able to use the truth-seeking balls, making him one of the few users of the Yin-Yang Release.
4 Kaguya Otsutsuki
Considered to be the progenitor of chakra, Kaguya Otsutsuki came to the Earth along with Isshiki Otsutsuki. However, she ended up betraying Isshiki and left him severely wounded. Kaguya went on to consume the chakra fruit of the God Tree and afterward, she ended up becoming the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. As the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, Kaguya has vast chakra reserves.
Kaguya's strength as a fighter is almost unparalleled; she was able to fight the likes of Hagoromo, Hamura, Naruto, Sasuke, etc. As the first user of chakra, Kaguya was immensely proficient at utilizing it. She was one of the few characters who could use all five natures and Yin-Yang Release. She is the only character who could create a truth-seeking ball with her power, an attack that could potentially destroy the entire world.
3 Madara Uchiha
The legendary Uchiha was reanimated during the Fourth Great Ninja War. As a reanimated ninja, Madara was able to test out his powers, and he nearly annihilated the Five Kage on his own. After dealing with the Five Kage, Madara became the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails.
With the power of the Ten-Tails, Madara was almost impossible to stop. He gained access to the truth-seeking balls, which allowed him to nullify all Ninjutsu. Madara's control over Yin-Yang Release enabled him to magnify White Zetsu's strength, and he could also use the black rods to restrain and enforce his will on others.
2 Obito Uchiha
Obito's life was turned upside down when he saw Rin jumping in front of Kakashi's attack. Rin's death was enough to turn Obito into a villain, and he was so much in despair that he ended up starting the Fourth Great Ninja War. After gathering the chakra of all the tailed beasts, Obito turned himself into the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails.
As the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, Obito was able to apply the Yin-Yang Release to the truth-seeking balls. Obito's power was so overwhelming that he was able to fight against the four reanimated Hokage. With his power, Obito could easily wipe out the entire Shinobi Alliance.
1 Naruto Uzumaki
Currently serving as the Seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf, Naruto Uzumaki is the strongest ninja in the world. Naruto was able to unlock the power of the Nine-Tails, which caused a surge in his power levels. Furthermore, Naruto received Six Paths chakra from Hagoromo Otsutsuki and thus gained access to Six Paths Sage Mode.
As a user of Six Paths Sage Mode, Naruto can use the Yin-Yang Release. During the war, Naruto was able to save Might Guy from dying, and he also restored Kakashi's lost eye. However, there are limits as Naruto wasn't able to save Obito, who was struck by Kaguya's All Killing Ash Bones.
