By the end of the Naruto series, Naruto Uzumaki was the strongest ninja of all time and, in the process of getting there, he also gained three Kekkei Genkai.
What Are Kekkei Genkai?
Kekkei Genkai are Incredibly rare powers that are also known as bloodline abilities in the world of Naruto. These powers are usually manifested within a certain group of individuals that carry a similar type of blood. Kekkei Genkai are usually passed down within a clan and these abilities are incredibly unique. Fans have seen quite a lot of powerful Kekkei Genkai over the years, such as the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan or the Byakugan of the Hyuga Clan. Kekkei Genkai can also be very different from dojutsu.
In fact, the vast majority of the Kekkei Genkai are formed by combining two nature transformations together. For instance, the famed Wood Release of the First Hokage is made by combining Water Release with Earth Release. However, this does not mean any user of Water and Earth Release can access Wood Release. Only a select few individuals who have those anomalies in their DNA can perform these tasks. As such, these Kekkei Genkai are specific to a certain clan or certain individuals.
This exclusivity of Kekkei Genkai also makes it impossible for anyone to copy them. Not even the famed Sharingan can copy the Kekkei Genkai and that just goes to show how special they truly are. Fans have seen quite a lot of amazing Kekkei Genkai in Naruto over the years and most of them are extremely overpowered. The Sharingan itself is one of the very best but there are stronger ones, such as the Rinnegan, which also fall under the same category. Among the Kekkei Genkai that result from the nature transformations, the likes of Wood Release are certainly the strongest and there are others as well, such as Magnet Release, and Storm Release, among others.
How Did Naruto Gain Kekkei Genkai?
From the beginning of the story, fans have seen quite a lot of powerful Kekkei Genkai users. The vast majority of them are gifted and Naruto Uzumaki was anything but that. For instance, Sasuke Uchiha was gifted with the power of the Sharingan and this is an ability that fit with his character. Sasuke was always gifted from birth, since he was born into the powerful Uchihas. He took his incredible talent and chiseled out a phenomenal ninja as he grew up. However, the basis of that was the incredible talent that he was blessed with.

Naruto Uzumaki had no such talent, and even though fans would have loved for him to have Kekkei Genkai from the get-go, he certainly didn't have one. That is, until a very late point in the story. As Naruto grew up, he also grew tremendously stronger. All the effort and hard work that he put in allowed him to reach the next levels of power and, eventually, he befriended those around him and it is through their help that Naruto ended up gaining three powerful Kekkei Genkai.
In the 4th Great Ninja War, Naruto progressed by leaps and bounds. In fact, he even befriended Kurama and this is exactly what ended up becoming a basis for him receiving these powers. Creating a bond with Kurama meant that he had conquered hatred itself. He essentially became a figure like the Sage of Six Paths himself. This meant that all the Tailed Beasts believed that he was the one to unite them and, as such, he ended up creating a bond with every single one of them. It was through these Tailed Beasts that Naruto ended up receiving Kekkei Genkai, since three of them are believed to hold this power.
Naruto's Three Kekkei Genkai
Naruto Uzumaki has access to three powerful Kekkei Genkai and these abilities have been with him over the years. The first Kekkei Genkai that Naruto received came from none other than Shukaku, the One Tail. Shukaku has access to some incredibly powerful abilities but the strongest of them all is certainly Magnet Release. Magnet Release is an incredibly powerful Kekkei Genkai that grants magnetic properties to one's chakra. At the same time, given that this power comes from Shukaku, Magnet Release also gives access to sealing abilities to Naruto. In the 4th Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki ended up utilizing this Kekkei Genkai and created what is known as Magnet Release, which is incredibly powerful and is full of Six Paths Chakra. At the same time, it has special properties as, whoever this attack is used on gets sealed away due to the cursed seals placed on it through the Magnet Release.
Another powerful Kekkei Genkai that Naruto Uzumaki possesses is Lava Release. This is quite likely the most powerful Kekkei Genkai that Naruto has. He received this ability from the Four Tails, Son Goku. This Kekkei Genkai is quite straightforward as it allows the user to produce as well as utilize lava however they like. Naruto gained access to Lava Release ever since he created a bond with the Four Tails and that allowed him to infuse Lava Release into his already existing Jutsu. Fans have seen him infuse Lava Release into his Rasenshuriken and do devastating damage to his enemies. For instance, even Madara Uchiha, in his 10 Tails form, was not able to escape from it and even the God Tree itself was chopped down by a single Lava Release Rasenshuriken from Naruto Uzumaki. The incredible power of this Kekkei Genkai was put on full display in the 4th Great Ninja War.
Finally, the third and the last Kekkei Genkai of Naruto Uzumaki is Boil Release. This is a Kekkei Genkai that Naruto gets from the Five Tails, Kokuo. This ability gives boiling properties to the chakra of the user, which allows them to momentarily raise their strength through the roof. Naruto Uzumaki has used this incredible Kekkei Genkai in the Fourth Great Ninja War as well. When he was fighting against Kaguya, he utilized a technique called Boil Release: Unparalleled Strength and this allowed him to boil his chakra to a point where his strength increased manifold.
In fact, he was even able to match her in combat with this power and counter her 80 Gods Vacuum Fist, which is nothing short of staggering. Naruto might not utilize these powers often, however, he has had access to these powerful Kekkei Genkai for years now and that just goes to show how much of a genius he has become.
