Senjutsu is a special form of jutsu that only the Sages of the Naruto world can use. This sort of jutsu requires the user to draw natural energy from their surroundings by becoming one with nature and then making use of all the energy present around them to their advantage. The energy that they draw from their surroundings is then combined with the chakra present inside their bodies, giving birth to senjutsu chakra.
Those who make use of this chakra are known as senjutsu users. Over the course of time, the Naruto world has seen the introduction of several of these powerful Senjutsu users. Among them, only a few stand at the top as some of the strongest Shinobi to ever live in the story.
10 Orochimaru
Contrary to popular belief, Orochimaru is, in fact, a user of senjutsu. He is known to have been to Ryuchi Cave, where he learned about the art of manipulating sage chakra. However, his body was extremely weak and, thus, not good enough to withhold the tremendous amount of power in his surroundings.
This is why Orochimaru ended up creating Cursed Seals and they allowed the users branded with the seals to draw on a bit of his senjutsu chakra instead.
9 Jiraiya
Jiraiya is one of the first people seen in the Naruto series to make use of senjutsu chakra. During his mission to find out more about the leader of the Akatsuki, he came face to face with Pain. Knowing that he did not stand a chance as he was, Jiraiya called upon the two toads from Mount Myoboku and entered an empowered state known as Sage Mode.
In this mode, all his attacks became much stronger and so did his chakra reserves. Jiraiya was a different beast in this form, however, his transformation was imperfect.
8 Kabuto Yakushi
Kabuto Yakushi went on to complete what Orochimaru couldn't. He learned Sage mode from the Ryuchi Cave and thanks to the modifications that he had made to his body, he could draw out the natural energy from his surroundings passively, thanks to the Kekkei Genkai of Jugo's clan. Kabuto believed that he had ascended to becoming a dragon from a snake when he learned Sage Mode.
He could take on both Itachi and Sasuke at the same time and that just goes to show his mastery over this skill. Had it not been for the might of Itachi, he could easily have taken down skilled users of the Mangekyo Sharingan.
7 Minato Namikaze
The Fourth Hokage of Konoha, Minato was revealed to be a user of senjutsu giving the 4th Great Ninja War. Minato had learned the ways of Sage Mode when he was alive, however, since it required a bit of time to enter the state, he never relied on it.
Being a Shinobi based on speed, he always preferred to end his fights very quickly. However, in the war, he showed perfect mastery over this skill and was able to enter the state within a matter of seconds. Minato is, unquestionably, one of the strongest Shinobi to ever live.
6 Hashirama Senju
The First Hokage of Konoha was one of the reincarnations of Asura Otsutsuki, and, as such, was tremendously powerful. He had the powers of the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai up his sleeve and, to power up even further, he could also use Senjutsu.
Hashirama could enter a unique form of Sage Mode within a matter of seconds and this was seen in his fight against Madara. This mode enhanced his already powerful Jutsu even further and made him the strongest Shinobi of his time.
5 Obito Uchiha
Obito did not know how to use Sage Mode and, was, thus, not a user of the regular Senjutsu. Instead, he had the powers of the Six Paths. Obito became the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. As such, he gained access to the same power as the Sage of Six Paths. In doing so, he acquired the power of Six Paths Senjutsu.
This is one of the strongest abilities to exist in the world of Naruto and it boosted his powers to a level where he could take on the entirety of the Shinobi alliance by himself. Despite everything, obito's version of this form was not complete and, as such, the jutsu he used was weaker.
4 Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha was the perfect Jinchuriki of the 10 Tails. Just like Obito, he was also a user of the Six Paths Senjutsu. Madara could access the powers of the Sage of Six Paths very easily and, given his genius nature, he mastered them within a short span of time.
When at his best, Madara could easily overwhelm the likes of even Naruto and Sasuke. Furthermore, his abilities continued to grow throughout the war and so did his jutsu prowess. Before he could test all of his powers, unfortunately, he was struck down by Black Zetsu and used as a vessel to bring back Kaguya.
3 Hamura Otsutsuki
Hamura Otsutsuki was the youngest child of Kaguya and was born with the power to use chakra. Just like his brother, he was predisposed to the power of the Six Paths. By his prime, he could use the Six Paths Senjutsu with ease, as was evident from the fact that he could produce the Truth-Seeking Orbs and manipulate natural energy in general.
He also fought against his very own mother for months without tiring and eventually, paved the way for her to be sealed away. Hamura was extremely powerful, however, is often underrated.
2 Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of the series and the strongest Shinobi to ever live. Naruto learned Sage Mode for the very first time from Fukasaku at Mount Myoboku. In the 4th Great Ninja War, Naruto advanced his powers even further by receiving a portion of the chakra of every Tailed Beast.
He was also gifted with Six Paths powers from Hagoromo himself. As such, Naruto attained incredible powers and this led to him awakening the Six Paths Sage Mode. This form saw Naruto Uzumaki clash evenly against the likes of Madara and even Kaguya. His control over Senjutsu was absolutely immaculate.
1 Hagoromo Otsutsuki
The Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki is known to be one of the strongest characters to ever live in the world of Naruto. Hagoromo was exceptionally gifted, thanks to being the son of Kaguya Otsutsuki.
What's more, he was especially skilled in the usage of the Six Paths powers.
Hagoromo could easily fight even Kaguya with his abilities. He is believed to have been the strongest to ever step foot on earth, with Naruto Uzumaki probably the only one coming close to surpassing him.
