Fans know the Otsutsuki to be incredibly overpowered and, of course, there has been quite a lot of debate over the years as to who the strongest of this clan is. Now, as things are being expanded upon in Boruto, it appears that the strongest of them might have finally been revealed.

What Are The Otsutsuki?

Simply put, the Otsutsuki are alien parasites who exist on a completely different planet. They are beings that feast upon the energies of the planet, and in other words, they feast upon chakra. The Otsutsuki go from planet to planet harvesting chakra fruits, and through these fruits, they gain tremendous strength. At the same time, they are in a continuous quest for evolution. The Otsutsuki want to be higher beings, and that is precisely why they maintain their power through karma and rebirth every single time, eventually aiming to become a higher force of nature, such as gods themselves.

Over the years, fans have seen quite a lot of incredible Otsutsuki in Naruto. The Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, was introduced in Naruto quite early and he was certainly an amazing figure. On planet Earth, he was the one who fought against Kaguya and protected it along with his brother. He became one of the main reasons why chakra belonged to living beings. In the Naruto series, fans believed there to be only five members of the Otsutsuki Clan. These were Kaguya Otsutsuki, the progenitor of chakra who came to earth, and, of course, her two sons, Hagoromo and Hamura. Through Hagaromo, the line continued and Indra and Asura were born.

From there onwards, the Uchiha and Senju clans were born, and the Otsutsuki line clearly ended. However, as the series continued, more and more Otsutsuki were revealed and it was confirmed that there are many others who exist as alien parasitic beings. The Otsutsuki went down to become the main plot point at the end of Naruto, and today, they continue to be explored in great detail in Boruto.

The Role Of The Otsutsuki In Naruto And Boruto

In Naruto, the Otsutsuki ended up serving the role of the main villains. The final villain of the series, Kaguya, was from this clan and she was sent to planet Earth to harvest the chakra fruit. Fans only knew limited things about Kaguya and her plans in the Naruto series, however, the Boruto series expanded upon her greatly. Essentially, she was sent to earth with Isshiki and they were to harvest a chakra fruit there. However, Kaguya turned on Isshiki and put him in a near-death state. Kaguya then consumed the chakra fruit all by herself and gained unparalleled power.

Meanwhile, Isshiki then went on to live inside the body of a monk and inscribed him with his genetic material through karma. Isshiki then existed as Jigen ever since. Meanwhile, Kaguya continued to build her empire, until she was eventually taken down by her own children, Hagoromo and Hamura. Kaguya was resurrected in the Fourth Great Ninja War using Madara's body as a vessel and, once again, she was sealed away, this time, by Naruto and Sasuke's combined effort. Finding out the truth about the Otsutsuki, Naruto and Sasuke then had to prepare the world for what was to come and come after, and that was, of course, the arrival of more Otsutsuki beings, which was later tackled in Boruto.

In the Boruto series, fans were introduced to quite a lot of incredible Otsutsukis and these started with Kinshiki and Momoshiki. Both Kinshiki and Momoshiki were taken down and the latter survived by inscribing a karma on Boruto Uzumaki. However, from there onwards, Isshiki, who was now existing as Jigen, as discussed earlier, decided to take center stage and kick his plan into motion. These are the main and the strongest of the Otsutsuki line that fans know of in Boruto. However, as the story continued, another incredible Otsutsuki was revealed to the fans and this person was none other than Shibai.

Who Is The Strongest Otsutsuki?

When it comes to the strongest of the Otsutsuki beings, only a few characters should be in contention for the spot. These characters are, of course, the Sage of Six Paths, Hagaromo, his mother Kaguya, her partner Isshiki, and, of course, Shibai Otsutsuki. When looking at these characters, fans already know that Shibai Otsutsuki is the strongest of them all. This is because Shibai actually managed to complete what every other Otsutsuki intended. He was able to consume so many chakra fruits and regenerate himself through so many karmic resurrections that he was actually able to become a god itself.

He left his physical body behind and ascended to a completely different plane of existence. What he left behind was then used as the basis for the creation of many other beings, such as Daemon and Ada. Regardless, Shibai was on a completely different level and all his techniques came to be classified as Shinjutsu. By merely roaring, he could create storms and destroy continents. He could easily destroy planets if he so wished and the fact that he is a god means that his powers were on a completely different level.

Other than him, there are other powerful Otsutsuki that fans know of as well. These are the likes of Kaguya and, of course, Isshiki Otsutsuki. These two beings are incredibly powerful in their own right and the abilities that they possessed could only be matched by a handful, such as Naruto Uzumaki in his Baryon Mode. Of course, then, there is Hagoromo Otsutsuki, whose chakra was so strong that he transcended time itself. With the ability of the Creation of All Things, he could create something out of nothing and he truly held godly powers as well.

These are all incredibly close to each other, however, out of them, Shibai certainly was the strongest, followed by the likes of Hagoromo, Isshiki, and Kaguya. Hagoromo was certainly up there, especially when taking into consideration the fact that he became the 10 Tails Jinchuriki after defeating his mother, meaning that in his prime, he was actually much stronger. The Creation of All Things made him truly overpowered, given that the Izanagi and the Izanami are only a replication of this original technique and he had so much chakra that he could use these techniques infinitely and still not tire. Truly, Hagoromo was in a league of his own and could have held his own against characters like Isshiki and Kaguya.
