Minato Namikaze is the Fourth Hokage of Konoha and one of the very strongest characters to live in the Naruto world. Being labeled as a generational shinobi, Minato was considered to be in a league of his own.
As the Fourth Hokage, he made history and was widely considered to be among the greatest fighters across all Five Nations. Minato possessed tremendous strength and skill up his sleeve and, although he lived a short life, he had already developed countless powerful jutsu in this time, some of which were passed down from one generation to another, while others remained unique to him.
9 Sensory Ninjutsu
One of the strongest skills that Minato had up his sleeve was his incredible sensory perception. Minato was a sensor-type ninja and this was seen during the Third Great Ninja War. By merely placing his finger on the ground, Minato could get an exact idea of how many enemies he was surrounded by, even when they were leagues away.
This makes him one of the best sensors in the entire Naruto series, if not the best. His sensory powers were boosted even further when he became the Jinchuriki of Kurama as he also gained the ability to sense negative emotions and energy around him.
8 Sage Mode
Much to the surprise of the fans, it was revealed during the 4th Great Ninja War that Minato Namikaze was actually a user of the Sage Mode as well. At some point in his life, he went to Mount Myoboku, where he learned the Sage Arts under the guidance of the Toad Sages.
Minato is a user of the Perfect Toad Sage Mode, as indicated by the orange pigmentation around his eyes. He could mix natural energy with his own perfectly and give rise to senjutsu chakra effortlessly.
7 Eight Trigrams Seal
The Eight Trigrams Seal is a powerful Sealing Jutsu that Minato learned at some point in his life, likely from his wife, Kushina Uzumaki. This jutsu is incredibly powerful and was seen being used the day he died.
Minato used this power to seal half of Kurama within his son, Naruto Uzumaki. The fact that it could contain a power as majestic as Kurama suggests that it is one of the very strongest Sealing Jutsus seen in the entire story. Undoubtedly, it ranks among his strongest techniques.
6 Rasengan
The Rasengan is the greatest legacy that the Fourth Hokage left behind. It is believed that he developed this jutsu in 3 years, after studying a Tailed Beast Ball after one particular encounter with it.
After years of hard work, Minato was able to create the Rasengan and this Jutsu became his signature technique. It was eventually passed from him to his teacher, Jiraiya, and through him to his son, Naruto Uzumaki. Through this jutsu, Minato lives on forever.
5 Nine Tails Chakra Mode
The Nine Tails Chakra Mode is one of the strongest abilities that Minato had up his sleeve. He only gained access to it after he was brought back to life using Impure World Reincarnation. Before dying, Minato sealed half of Kurama within himself, becoming its Jinchuriki.
Somehow, Minato managed to form a bond with the Tailed Beast and gain access to his chakra. With his chakra at his disposal, Minato managed to get even stronger, faster and, overall, a much better combatant than he was before.
4 Flying Raijin: Guiding Thunder
Flying Raijin: Guiding Thunder is a barrier ninjutsu that Minato used when Kurama attacked Konoha. This technique was incredible enough to transport an entire Tailed Beast Ball from within Konoha to safety.
The chakra that this jutsu required was excessive, but it likely also depends on the size of the object that is being transported. It is easily one of Minato's strongest Jutsu and also goes to show that he is a very versatile fighter, capable of using different kinds of jutsu.
3 Flying Raijin
The Flying Raijin Jutsu is another one of Minato's trademark techniques. While it originally belonged to Tobirama, Minato perfected its usage and improved upon it drastically.
His version of the Flying Raijin was much better and he even took it a step beyond and developed Stage Two of this technique that fans see during his fight against Obito Uchiha outside Konoha.
2 Shiki Fujin
Shiki Fujin is one of the strongest Sealing Jutsus seen in the world of Naruto. This technique belongs to the Uzumaki clan and it is unknown how Minato learn it, however, it was likely passed on to him through his wife, Kushina, who was a member of the Uzumaki Clan.
Using this Jutsu, Minato could summon the Death God itself and in exchange for his life, take the life of someone else. This jutsu is a double-edged sword, however, it is incredibly effective.
1 Tailed Beast Ball
The Tailed Beast Ball is a jutsu that causes mass destruction. It can only be used by a Tailed Beast or its Perfect Jinchuriki. Minato managed to use the Tailed Beast Ball in the Fourth Great Ninja War.
As expected of a genius shinobi such as him, he learned its usage in quite a short amount of time. He also based his Rasengan after this jutsu, which just goes to show how enamored he was by this technique. The Tailed Beast Ball is easily one of the strongest abilities he has in his arsenal.
