Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most beloved characters in the Naruto franchise. In the original series, he served as much of an important role as Naruto Uzumaki himself and even the author himself admitted to the fact that both he and Naruto progressed together until the very end. Sasuke was the Yin to Naruto's Yang and that in itself establishes his importance to the overarching plot of the original story.

Of course, Boruto tells a different story altogether. Neither Naruto nor Sasuke are the main characters in the series, however, fans hold them very close to their hearts still and love them all the same. That's certainly not all. These two characters are believed to be some of the very strongest in the Boruto world, however, their recent misfortunes have seen to it that they get nerfed. Now, Boruto is in its time skip and while Naruto Uzumaki remains sealed away in the dimension of Daikokuten, Sasuke Uchiha is with Boruto Uzumaki and, fans will most likely see a very different version of Sasuke after the four-year timeskip.

Sasuke And Boruto's Escape

Sasuke Uchiha played a pivotal role towards the end of the first part of Boruto, where both Boruto and Kawaki played a central role. When Kawaki decided to tread on his path to killing all Otsutsuki, he made his move and sealed both Naruto and Hinata. He then decided to aim for none other than Boruto Uzumaki. The two fought atop the Hokage faces and this fight ended with Boruto losing his eye while trying to protect Sarada. Before the find could get any more dangerous, the Shinobi of Konoha intervened. Kawaki was about to be subdued as he had no way out when Momoshiki suddenly gave him an opportunity to escape.

Taking it with both hands, he left to get stronger and return to destroy both Boruto Uzumaki and all the other members of the Otsutsuki Clan. However, this was easier said than done. Konoha has a multitude of very skilled individuals who could easily track him down and arrest him thereafter. The Shinobi of Konoha were especially angry since it was made known that Naruto Uzumaki could have been killed by Kawaki. When Kawaki found no way out, it was Ada who decided to help him. Using the powers of her Omnipotence, she granted Kawaki's wish to him. Kawaki and Boruto switched lives and Boruto was declared as the killer of the 7th Hokage. Meanwhile, Kawaki was seen as the true-born son of Naruto Uzumaki and a shinobi of Konoha.

Much to the surprise of the fans, the entire village turned against Boruto Uzumaki in an instant. This is where Momoshiki stepped in and told Boruto that the day he was talking about where he would lose everything had come. Fans assumed that people that Boruto holds dear would die when they thought of this prophecy, however, it was the other way around. Boruto had everything stripped from him and he became a ninja with no place to belong to.

His fate saw him turn from one of the most beloved people in the village to a stranger and the murderer of the Seventh Hokage. Of course, things only got worse for Boruto from here onwards as he couldn't stay in the village any longer, however, there was a silver lining and that came through Sasuke Uchiha. Sarada was, for some reason, unaffected by the powers of Omnipotence, as was Sumire. Through Sarada, Sasuke found out that Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki had switched lives. When Boruto found his back against the wall, it was Sasuke who decided to save him and together, the two went to a place slightly far away from the village.

They soon met Ada and she revealed to them the truth of the situation. Ada certainly does not hate Boruto and she didn't even intend to switch their lives on purpose, however, she owed them the truth and that is precisely what she did. Now, Sasuke and Boruto are on a 4-year journey where they'll undergo several changes, evident from the very first chapter of Boruto, where the young Uzumaki is 16 years old and returns to a completely destroyed version of the village. Boruto's timeskip is finally here and this means huge things will happen for both Boruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha.

Sasuke After The Timeskip

When Naruto Uzumaki was sealed away, the vast majority of the fans expected Sasuke to become the Hokage of the village. Things took a drastic turn when Sasuke decided to leave with Boruto. Now, the goal for these two characters is very clear. Boruto is supposed to get as strong as he possibly can and the same goes for Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke is the hope of the world at this point since Naruto is no longer available and he has to live up to those expectations, given his standing in the Shinobi world. Sasuke is an incredibly skilled ninja, however, whatever skill he possesses right now is certainly not enough to see him defeat his enemies, which are those of the Otsutsuki Clan, Kawaki, and, of course, Kara.

Sasuke needs to power up somehow and having lost his Rinnegan, he needs to find some other way to get stronger. Thankfully, 4 years is a lot of time to train. Sasuke will continue to train Boruto and, in doing so, he will surely continue to train himself as well. He still has his one Mangekyo Sharingan and with this eye, he can reach great heights. Sasuke also knows all five Nature Transformations and, on top of that, he also has the powers of other pseudo-Kekkei Genkai. His weapon arsenal is surely elaborate, however, it isn't potent enough and for that reason, Sasuke needs to level up somehow.

Sasuke's New Powers

Sasuke's Rinnegan In Naruto

When it comes to Sasuke's new powers, there isn't much that he can gain. Perhaps, Sasuke can once again turn to Orochimaru for some help and, given that Orochimaru has himself made progress by leaps and bounds, he can help Sasuke too. Seeking help from Orochimaru would make Sasuke powerful once again and since he is very familiar with the process of utilizing the snake-related powers, it wouldn't take him long to master these abilities. However, while this remains a possibility, there are other opportunities for Sasuke to grow as well.

One of the biggest ways Sasuke can grow in strength would be by locating the ethereal weapons that his brother once possessed. Itachi Uchiha was a user of both the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror. These two weapons made his Susanoo invincible. If Sasuke does manage to get his hands on these weapons, then he will certainly grow tremendously in terms of strength. Furthermore, it would also allow him to defeat the powerful enemies of the Otsutsuki with rather ease.

By piercing them but the Totsuka Blade or by simply merging the powers of the Totsuka Blade with his Kusanagi Blade, Sasuke can easily defeat and seal away anyone. With the powers of the Yata Mirror, he can deflect any powerful attack be it ninjutsu or even shinjutsu. Surely, this upgrade will be significant enough for Sasuke. On top of everything, fans should already be expecting Sasuke here to be physically stronger than ever before. Sasuke is, after all, going to train for 4 years with Boruto and that only means that his scale will grow even further.

While nothing can be said for sure right now, the two most likely power-ups that Sasuke can receive after the timeskip of Boruto would be snake-related abilities, such as the Snake Sage Mode, or the ethereal weapons that his brother once possessed. Only Kishimoto knows which way the story will go for the Uchiha hero, however, his legend is far from ending.
