Highlights

  • Jinchuriki like Fu, Utakata, Han, Roshi, and Yagura had great potential and powerful Tailed Beasts, but were disappointing due to lack of focus and wasted characters.
  • Despite being a major character, Obito Uchiha was disappointing as a Jinchuriki and easily defeated, especially compared to Madara.
  • Many Jinchuriki had impressive abilities and played significant roles in filler arcs, but were largely ignored in the canon storyline, leaving fans unsatisfied.

Jinchuriki are powerful humans with Tailed Beasts sealed inside them. They are used as weapons of war, in case war ever breaks out between the shinobi villages. Given that there are a total of nine Tailed Beasts in the world of Naruto, fans have seen quite a lot of powerful Jinchuriki pop up over the years.

Naruto: 24 Strongest Jonin In The Series, Ranked

Jonin are the most skilful ninjas under a Kage but who stood out as the strongest of the lot in Naruto?

The vast majority of them are strong, however, even if they are strong, they can still be disappointing with their level of performance and the role that they play in the story, with some even holding great potential that is left unfulfilled.

6 Fu

fu naruto

Foo was the Jinchuriki of the Seven Tails. She belonged to the village of Takigakure, being its only Jinchuriki. She was quite powerful and fans saw her momentarily in the Naruto filler arc of the Chunin Exams. However, in the Naruto canon, fans did not get to see anything from her, which was rather disappointing.

She had great potential, given her Tailed Beast had seven tails, making it very powerful. Furthermore, given the dearth of good female characters in Naruto, Fu had great potential, however, it went on fulfilled because Kishimoto chose not to focus on her much. She is, quite easily, one of the most disappointing Jinchuriki to have ever appeared in the Naruto series.

5 Utakata

utakata naruto

Utakata was another powerful Jinchuriki who was briefly shown in Naruto during a filler arc. He had the power of the Six Tails, Saiken, at his disposal and it was certainly quite an incredible tailed beast that he possessed. He could access its transformation to some degree, at least that's what fans saw in the filler arc.

However, he certainly did not have perfect control over his beast. He played a great role in the filler arc in Naruto, however, as always, fans should remember that this is not canon and thus, not written by the author himself. In the original story, he has little to no role to play whatsoever and is certainly one of the most disappointing characters in the entire series, especially given the level of power that he possessed, thanks to the tailed beast that was sealed inside his body. He was eventually taken care of by Pain, the leader of the Akatsuki.

4 Han

han naruto

Han was yet another disappointing Jinchuriki who appeared in the story of Naruto. He was quite skilled with the usage of his Tailed Beast powers, which is starkly different from the Jinchuriki mentioned before. However, his role was cut short because he did not receive any screen time in the show. Han could use Boil Release and even summon his Tailed Beast to some degree. He could also use a tailed-based bomb, making him a very powerful Jinchuriki.

Naruto: Every Member Of Konoha 11 That Flopped

Not all the Konoha 11 members were as successful as Naruto or Sasuke.

He also fought in the Third Great Ninja War alongside his village and even encountered Minato and his team, forcing them to flee. He was one of Iwagakure's strongest, by far. That is precisely why he's one of the most disappointing characters in the story as well. He had a lot of potential, but the author chose to not focus on him and killed him off without giving him a pronounced role, wasting the character away.

3 Roshi

roshi naruto

The Jinchuriki of the Four Tails, Roshi was also quite a powerful being. Just like Han, he had partial control over his beast and could access its Lava Release Chakra Mode and, at the same time, also create a chakra avatar around himself. He could also utilize the Tailed Beast Ball. He is one of the strongest Jinchuriki to have ever appeared in the story.

He was taken care of by Kisame on his own, and the battle wasn't even shown to the fans, which is extremely disappointing. His entire character was wasted away simply because the author chose to not involve him in the main plot of the series.

2 Yagura

Obito Confronts Yagura

The Fourth Mizukage of Kirigakure, Yagura is, quite easily, one of the most disappointing characters in Naruto. This is because he held the most potential when compared to other Jinchuriki. He was a perfect Jinchuriki, which is very rare, and a story around him and his Tailed Beast, Isobu, the Three Tails, would've been extremely exciting.

Sadly, he was manipulated by Obito for the vast majority of his life and, eventually, his beast was taken from him and he was killed off. He was briefly seen during the war, thanks to Naruto and his connection with the Jinchuriki, as well as the tailed beasts. However, other than that, his role in the story amounted to absolutely nothing.

1 Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha

Even though Obito Uchiha, as a character, was very impressive and was focused on quite a lot in the story, as a Jinchuriki, he was rather disappointing. Obito became the Jinchuriki of the 10 Tails in the 4th Great Ninja War. In fact, he was the first Jinchuriki of the beast and he sealed the 10 Tails within himself before Madara.

Despite wielding such great power, he was dealt with rather easily. Naruto and Sasuke did quite a number on him and with the collaborative effort of the shinobi alliance, he was defeated. When comparing his powers to Madara, he was very disappointing as a Jinchuriki and his performance was largely bad.
