Minato Namikaze is one of the most popular characters in the Naruto series. He was considered a prodigy who managed to breeze past the Academy at a record young age. Given his performance in the Academy, it was obvious that he had talent and only needed proper guidance.

Luckily, Minato was placed on Team Jiraiya, and he managed to learn a lot under Jiraiya's guidance, eventually becoming the Fourth Hokage. Sadly, Minato's reign didn't last for long. Minato died years prior to the beginning of Naruto, so his appearances were limited. Although, that didn't stop Minato from making an impact. Fans have been vocal about wanting to see him in action, and they proved it by making him win the recent popularity poll. Due to this reason, Masashi Kishimoto has confirmed that he will write a one-shot manga about the ninja, but what part of Minato's life will it cover?

6 Secret Behind His Jutsu

Minato vs Obito

Minato Kamikaze was a clever individual, as evidenced by the fact that he managed to produce one of the most remarkable jutsu in the entire series. One is the Rasengan, which was learned by Jiraiya, Naruto, and Konohamaru. The Rasengan is a powerful jutsu that took Minato years to develop. Minato was able to instantly create a massive Rasengan with only one hand.

Minato's other most-used technique was the Flying Thunder God. The jutsu was originally developed by Tobirama Senju, who used it to kill Izuna Uchiha. Minato learned the jutsu and perfected it. When Tobirama saw Minato using the improved version of the Flying Thunder God, the Senju was extremely impressed. In a statement, Kishimoto revealed that the manga will include information about Minato's jutsu. Whether it will be the Rasengan or the Flying Thunder God remains to be seen.

5 More Time With Jiraiya

Like Minato, Jiraiya is also a popular character. He was Minato's teacher, and he believed that his student was destined for great things. The two were seen together in flashbacks, where they interacted with each other. However, the two characters were never seen fighting or training together. For some fans, these limited glimpses were not enough, and they wanted to see them get more screen time.

The one-shot manga could explore the relationship between the two legendary ninjas. Kishimoto could include how Jiraiya helped Minato as he tried to come up with signature jutsu, or it could just be a wholesome conversation between the two.

4 Old Teammates

Minato's Team

The Naruto manga didn't cover the life of Minato when he was still training under Jiraiya, so fans didn't get the opportunity to learn more about his teammates. The names of Minato's teammates weren't disclosed by Kishimoto, but that may change in the upcoming one-shot manga.

It could explain how Minato and his teammates were selected and placed under Jiraiya's guidance. It would be great if the one-shot could also include some additional details about the two teammates and their relationship with Minato. Considering Minato's personality, it is safe to assume that all three of them got along really well.

3 Why Ninjas Were Told To Flee On Sight

Minato vs Raikage

Minato Namikaze remains one of the most feared ninjas in history. His skills were praised by both allies and enemies. While there may be other characters who are more powerful than him, none of them had the same reputation that instilled fear into the hearts of rival ninjas.

During the Third Great Ninja War, the ninjas from other villages were given the order to flee if they saw Minato. This was a big testament to Minato's strength as a ninja. The spin-off could explain why these orders were given. Was it because of what Minato had previously done, or were the other villages just wary of the Yellow Flash?

2 When Minato To Mt. Myouboku

Minato uses the Sage Mode

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Minato Namikaze was confirmed as a Sage Mode user. In fact, he had managed to learn the perfect Sage Mode, something that his master had failed to do. Minato was introduced to summoning toads by Jiraiya, but he was never seen telling Minato to learn the Sage Mode.

This is definitely something that the new manga could cover. It could further expand on why Minato didn't use the Sage Mode more often in fights, especially when it increased an individual's power significantly.

1 The Condition of The Uchiha In His Reign

Minato from Naruto in Uniform Smiling

The Uchiha Clan has been ostracized since the time of Tobirama Senju. The Second Hokage believed that the Uchiha were too emotional and potentially dangerous to the sovereignty of the Hidden Leaf. Since he could not openly cast them out, Tobirama created the Leaf Police to keep the members of the clan occupied. The Uchiha were not happy with their treatment, and it led to the clan detesting the Hidden Leaf.

The tensions between the Uchiha and the Hidden Leaf reached an all-time high during the second reign of Hiruzen Sarutobi. Eventually, things escalated, and the Uchiha clan was nearly wiped out by Itachi and Obito. However, the series never disclosed the condition of the Uchiha during Minato's reign. It was never revealed if the clan was being treated better or if things were still the same. So, it would be a good idea to include Minato's treatment of the clan and what he planned to do about their problems.
