Throughout his life, nothing was gifted to him, and to become as great and iconic as he is today, he had to forge his own destiny. Naruto's character resonates with millions of fans and is rightfully loved by people worldwide. Against all odds, Naruto has achieved a lot in the world of ninja, quite possibly more than any other to ever live.

7 Becoming The Strongest

Naruto Uzumaki Six Paths Sage Mode

Naruto Uzumaki started off as a very weak and timid ninja. While some certainly believed in him, nobody expected him to reach the levels that he managed by the end of the series. He not only became a splendid shinobi but also managed to surpass every single one who came before him.

His progress was slow, but he gradually became strong enough to contend with the likes of the Jonin, and eventually, even Kage level shinobi. At the peak of his abilities, he became strong enough to contend with the gods themselves and that is certainly one of his greatest achievements in the entire series.

6 Saving Konoha

As a young kid, Naruto was reviled across Konoha for having the beast that once savaged the village sealed within his body. It would have been quite easy for him to turn against the village in resentment, however, Naruto persevered. As he grew stronger, so did his sense of justice and, after training on Mount Myoboku, he saved the village from Pain's Invasion. In doing so, Naruto saved every single person who hated him and more.

This turn of events led to him becoming the hero of Konoha and surpassing the legacy of the likes of the Fourth Hokage, and all the other Hokage that came before him. His defeat of Pain marked his first step towards the end of his dream, and to date, it remains to be one of his biggest achievements.

4 Taming Kurama

Quite easily one of the most difficult tasks that Naruto has ever accomplished is taming Kurama, the Tailed Beast sealed within his body. Kurama is the nine-tailed beast and the very same one that was unleashed upon the village by Obito Uchiha 12 years prior to the beginning of the story. While Kurama is a powerful entity, there's much more to him than just that.

The beast is known to be the personification of hatred itself. Yet, Naruto managed to tame it with nothing more than love and belief and the guts to never give up. By winning Kurama's heart, Naruto took another step closer to his dream and eventually accomplished it. While taming Kurama might not appear to be much of an achievement, it certainly is one that defines the very core of Naruto's character.

3 Bringing Sasuke Back

Naruto grew up lonely, but upon his graduation from the Ninja Academy, he was placed in Team 7, which became his found family. When Sasuke left the village, he was devastated, as was Sakura, and Kakashi, to a certain extent. Naruto cared deeply about Sasuke and the two are often described to be brothers.

As such, he swore to bring Sasuke back to the village and, at the end of the story, succeeded in doing so. Given how deep Sasuke had fallen in the Curse of Hatred, pulling him back from these depths was certainly a praiseworthy task and remains to be one of his greatest achievements of all time.

2 Becoming The Hokage

Hokage - Naruto All Teams

Naruto Uzumaki aimed to become the Hokage of the village from a very young age. This was largely due to him wanting acknowledgment from all those around him. While Naruto gained the acknowledgment long before even becoming the Hokage, he managed to accomplish his dream years after the end of the story.

Following the 4th Great Ninja War, Kakashi was made the Sixth Hokage of the village and when he stepped down, Naruto Uzumaki rose and assumed the position of the Seventh Hokage and has been ruling ever since.

1 Ending The Fourth Great Ninja War

Naruto Uzumaki Shippuden

The Fourth Great Ninja War was started by Obito Uchiha and Kabuto Yakushi towards the end of the Naruto series. The goal of the war was to get the power of the eight and the nine-tailed beasts and work towards the fulfillment of project Tsuki no Me. While many wars had been fought in the past, the Fourth Great Ninja War was special as it saw all the ninjas from all over the world join forces to take down the great evil of the Akatsuki.

Needless to say, Naruto Uzumaki was a key player in this war and single-handedly won it for the Shinobi Alliance. Not only did he take on the reincarnated Shinobi, but he also fought Obito Uchiha and brought him back to the good side, clashed with Madara, and then helped seal Kaguya. Shortly after, he traded blows with his best friend, Sasuke Uchiha, and sacrificed a limb to bring him back to the village. Naruto brought peace to the entire world and that peace is being enjoyed to this day.
