Highlights

  • Karin would have been a valuable addition to the Akatsuki due to her skills as a medical ninja and her powerful abilities. She would have had the opportunity to leave behind her life as a tool for Sasuke and make a name for herself.
  • Mangetsu Hozuki, a highly skilled swordsman, could have thrived in the Akatsuki. His strength and infamy would have made him a valuable asset, and he would have had the opportunity to unleash his power and kill under the guise of the organization.
  • Kimimaro, a talented fighter with the ability to manipulate his bones, could have been an invaluable asset to the Akatsuki. Despite being bound to Orochimaru, he possessed great strength and potential, which would have greatly strengthened the organization.

The Akatsuki is one of the strongest organizations in the world of Naruto. Believed to be incredibly powerful, the Akatsuki had many different leaders at different points. With that, their goals also differed. The most significant Akatsuki that the fans have seen in Naruto was the evil organization that went on a hunt for Tailed Beasts under Nagato.

Naruto: 11 Villains Who Should've Remained Evil

There were a lot of villains present in Naruto that should have stayed evil throughout the entire show. Here are some prime examples.

While their ranks were already made up of powerful ninjas strong enough to contend with even Kage-level Shinobi, the Akatsuki could very well have used some more hands of very talented ninjas sprinkled across the Five Great Nations.

5 Karin

Naruto Karin blushing

Karin is one character who absolutely should have been a member of the Akatsuki after the death of Orochimaru. She ended up joining Sasuke on his journey because the news of Orochimaru's death was given to her by him and because she deeply loved him. However, Karin would have been a much better fit at an organization where her skills were respected.

She was nothing more than a tool for Sasuke. In Akatsuki, while she would not have comradery, she would, at the very least, leave her life for herself. Furthermore, she could aid this group greatly because she was a fantastic medical ninja and, clearly, this group lacked one. Karin would have aided them greatly and with her tremendous power, she could also have taken on some very strong opponents as well. This is especially true if her Adamantine Sealing Chains had awakened earlier. Karin would have been a fantastic addition to the Akatsuki.

4 Mangetsu Hozuki

Mangetsu, a member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist

Mangetsu is one of the most ferocious swordsmen to have ever emerged from the Hidden Mist Village. Fans know him to be extremely powerful. In fact, he's one of the very few swordsmen known to be capable of wielding all seven swords with great proficiency. While he could certainly wield all of them, his weapon of choice was Hiramekarei, which is currently being wielded by Chojuro. Mangetsu was quite dangerous and even his brother, Suigetsu, was absolutely no match for him in combat.

Given his strength, as well as the infamy that he possessed, he could have done well for himself in an organization such as the Akatsuki. Characters such as Juzo Biwa were a part of this organization and Mangetsu was certainly stronger than him. He would have been a great asset to the Akatsuki and this would have benefited both of these characters. While the Akatsuki would have gained his incredible power, Mangetsu would have been given the opportunity to kill indiscriminately under the guise of this powerful group.

3 Kimimaro

Naruto Kimimaro using the Shikotsumyaku

Kimimaro is certainly one of the most talented characters to have ever lived in the world of Naruto. He was the last survivor of the Kaguya Clan and he had the Kekkei Genkai of Shikotsumyaku, which allowed him to manipulate all aspects of his bones. He could rip them out of his body and use them as weapons, control the density of his bones, make them harder than iron, and do all sorts of things with them. Sadly, he was riddled with an illness.

These Naruto characters make use of forbidden jutsu.

Kimimaro lived his life for the sake of Orochimaru and, had he not been trapped by him, he would certainly have been an invaluable asset to the Akatsuki. He was powerful enough to take on Lee and Gaara successively in combat in Part 1 of Naruto and that just goes to show what his strength was truly like. Furthermore, it must be remembered that had his body been fit, Orochimaru would have picked him over Sasuke, which says a lot about the level of strength that he could have built had he been given the chance to grow up. The Akatsuki would have been stronger than ever before had Kimimaro joined them.

2 Zabuza

Zabuza from Naruto

Another one of the Hidden Mist swordsmen, Zabuza was quite a skilled fighter and the first villain that fans encountered in Naruto. He was strong enough to fight against Kakashi and that was enough for him to be considered as an S Ranked threat. Zabuza would have fit incredibly well in the Akatsuki. Juzo, a member of the group, also carried the Executioner's Blade, however, it was clear to see that Zabuza did it with much higher precision.

His skill was certainly greater than that of Juzo and that alone is proof that he would have been a perfect fit for the Akatsuki. Sadly, Zabuza never crossed paths with them and, thus, never got a chance to join this organization.

1 Haku

Haku Uses Single-Hand Hand Signs

Haku had tremendous potential as a villain, however, he ended up dying very early in the series, sadly. Haku would have been a fantastic fighter if he had joined the Akatsuki. He was nothing more than a tool for Zabuza and he ended up giving his life up for him. Had Haku lived for himself and found a powerful mercenary group such as the Akatsuki, he would have flourished.

He had so much talent that even Kakashi, who was deemed a genius, accepted the fact that Haku was more gifted. Had Haku been allowed to reach his prime, he could have been a terrific villain in the series who could have provided the fans with some of the most incredible fights.
