The world of Naruto is filled with many strong ninjas, but not nearly as many good parents. The main priority for the ninjas has always been to get stronger and gain new powers. Some of them were consumed by their hunger for power, which eventually led to their ruin.
Others who managed to control their desires were preoccupied with work. Most of the characters in the story ignored their duties as parents. They were away from their families for long periods of time for one reason or another. Given that there is no shortage of bad parents in Naruto and its sequel, the question at hand is: who is the worst parent in the series?
8 Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kaguya Otsutsuki was known as the Rabbit Goddess. She ate the Chakra Fruit thousands of years prior to the current storyline and ended up becoming the progenitor of chakra. Kaguya had an insane amount of power, with which she could easily destroy the planet.
At some point in her life, Kaguya had two kids: Hagoromo and Hamura. Kaguya's sons remained loyal to her until they found out about the horrific deeds that she had done. Kaguya felt threatened by her sons, and she fought them for a very long time. Fortunately, she lost the fight and was sealed away forever. Kaguya lacked compassion, and she didn't care if she had to kill her sons to maintain her rule. All these things make her a horrible parent.
7 Fugaku Uchiha
Fugaku Uchiha was the father of Itachi and Sasuke. He was extremely fond of Itachi, and he always showed how proud he was of his eldest son. According to Mikoto, Fugaku also loved Sasuke, but he never showed him any affection.
This led to Sasuke often overexerting himself just to prove that he was just as good as his brother. Fugaku's lack of parental skills were displayed once again when he just accepted being killed by Itachi. It didn't cross his mind what would happen to Sasuke after his death.
6 Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is a splendid ninja; in fact, he's one of the greatest ninjas of all time. Sasuke was raised in a loving family, but Itachi's decision to kill them all left him all alone. After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke got the opportunity to start his own family with Sakura.
Sasuke and Sakura have one daughter, namely, Sarada Uchiha. Sakura is the one who mainly takes care of her, as Sasuke spends most of his time on missions. Once again, it is odd that someone who knows the value of a family failed to become a good parent.
5 Rasa
When people think about bad parents, they think about Rasa. He used to be the Fourth Kazekage of the Hidden Sand Village, and he was completely obsessed with obtaining power. Rasa was ruthless and aggressive in his approach, and it was reflected in his parenting methods. After he sealed Shukaku inside Gaara, he tried many times to kill him.
It reached the point where Rasa sent Gaara's uncle to murder him. All these incidents traumatized Gaara so much that he ended up hating every single person. He considered himself a weapon that was only meant to destroy things.
4 Haku's Father
Haku was orphaned under extraordinary circumstances. Haku's father was a normal human, while his mother was a Kekkei Genkai user. Haku's mother had kept her powers hidden because people had been hunting Kekkei Genkai users. Unfortunately, Haku also inherited the Kekkei Genkai powers.
Once Haku's father found out about his Kekkei Genkai, he gathered the people of the village and killed his wife. Haku was mortified after seeing his mother killed. It's safe to say that if Haku hadn't killed his father, he would have died as well.
3 Jigen
Before his body was taken over by Isshiki Otsutsuki, Jigen was just a regular monk. The Otsutsuki was easily able to take over the body and mind of Jigen. The monk gained unimaginable powers, but he lost his identity. Jigen's task was to locate the next vessel for the revival of Isshiki Otsutsuki.
He experimented on many children, including Kawaki. Jigen treated Kawaki worse than an animal. He would frequently beat him and abuse him. This filled Kawaki's heart with hatred, and it reached a point when the young boy didn't trust anyone.
2 Naruto Uzumaki
Some might think that it is harsh to label Naruto a bad parent, but his actions prove that the knucklehead ninja is not a good father. Naruto knew exactly how it felt to not have parents, so one might think it would have made him a great father.
However, Naruto is clearly more concerned about his duties as the Hokage. He missed his children's birthdays, which left a negative impact on them, especially on Boruto. Surprisingly, he gave more attention to Kawaki than to his own son.
1 Hagoromo Otsutsuki
Hagoromo Otsutsuki is also known as the Sage of Six Paths. He was Kaguya's eldest son, and for a long time, he was completely unaware of her mother's doings. Eventually, he rebelled against her and sealed her away. Hagoromo went on to have children of his own. He had two sons, Indra, and Asura Otsutsuki.
In order to find his successor, Hagoromo gave both of his sons a test, which they passed in different ways. After much deliberation, Hagoromo named Asura as his successor. This started an intense feud between Asura and Indra that would last for thousands of years. As someone who was considered to be incredibly wise, Hagoromo made a rather stupid decision, and he didn't even try to stop his sons from fighting.
