The thing that was common among all the great ninjas in the show was that they all had outstanding teachers who were there to guide them through life, and they instilled some very important values in them. 12 Might Guy
Might Guy is definitely one of the better characters in Naruto. As a child, Guy did not have any kind of talent, and his future looked very bleak. However, his father refused to give up on him, and he continuously tried to raise Guy's morale.
His father would always talk to him, and in many ways, it influenced Guy's teachings as a ninja. Might Guy showed what a fantastic teacher he was when he took in Rock Lee as his student. Lee could not use any type of ninjutsu, but Guy did not give up and worked hard with his student to help him become a ninja. Needless to say, without Guy, the audience would have never received an opportunity to witness a fine young ninja like Rock Lee.
11 Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is one of the main characters in the series. He had a very disturbing childhood, which affected his thinking deeply. At one point, he left the village to gain power. It took a lot of effort from Naruto to bring Sasuke back to his normal self.
Sasuke only became a teacher in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Sasuke used his experience to teach Boruto about the things that make a ninja different from other people. The time that he spent with Boruto helped the young ninja to move past his failures and fight for his goals.
10 Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto Uzumaki is the seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He had a very tough life as both of his parents died during the attack of the Nine-Tails. However, Naruto never allowed his problems to get the better of him, and he always stayed true to his goal of becoming the Hokage.
Over the course of Naruto and its sequel, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, he has taken the likes of Konohamaru and Kawaki under his wing. Both of them have not only learned the basics of ninjutsu, but they have also gained valuable life lessons from undoubtedly the greatest ninja of all time.
9 Iruka Umino
Iruka might not be the strongest ninja or have any flashy Jutsu, but he is still considered to be one of the best teachers in Naruto. The reason behind his success as a teacher lies in his kindness. It is extremely easy to turn a ninja into a ruthless killing machine, but not everyone can turn a ninja into an amazing human being.
Iruka was the first person who openly acknowledged Naruto as a splendid ninja. This incident changed Naruto's life forever, and it helped him to become the greatest Hokage the Hidden Leaf had ever seen. Iruka's influence on Naruto's life was so immense that the latter asked if he could attend the ceremony as his dad. This shows how great of a teacher Iruka was.
8 Jiraiya
Jiraiya was a member of the Legendary Sannin, and he was known as one of the greatest ninjas that the Hidden Leaf ever produced. His talent was acknowledged by everyone in the Hidden Leaf, and he was offered the position of Hokage many times, but he turned down the offers every single time.
Jiraiya mentored Nagato, Konan, Yahiko, Minato and Naruto. He taught them many things, but he never stuck around for a long time to see their rise to the top. When he was training Naruto, Jiraiya only taught him how to use the Rasengan, which was very underwhelming. Jiraiya could have actually taught him to use the Sage Mode, which would have been a great help to Naruto.
7 Tsunade Senju
She is the Fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf and one of the best kunoichi of all time. After losing Nawaki and Dan, Tsunade became terrified of blood, and it took her a while to recover from the trauma, but eventually, she managed to overcome it.
Once she came back to the Hidden Leaf, Tsunade took her place as the Hokage. It was during this time that she started to train Sakura. By the time the Fourth Great Ninja War had started, Sakura had surpassed her teacher to become of the strongest ninjas in the world.
6 Orochimaru
Orochimaru was introduced as a very evil villain in Part I, but as the series went on, his character changed quite a bit. His credibility as a teacher is often overlooked, but he is an excellent mentor. He was able to convince Sasuke to leave the Hidden Leaf to gain more power.
After Sasuke went to Orochimaru, the former was successful in obtaining a great deal of strength, which became evident when he fought against the likes of Deidara and Itachi Uchiha. Under Orochimaru's tutelage, Kabuto was able to learn more about the different kinds of jutsu, which enabled him to help Obito to start the Fourth Great Ninja War.
5 Tobirama Senju
Tobirama Senju was named the Second Hokage of the Hidden Leaf after the death of his elder brother. He was a genius who created multiple strong jutsu, and most of them were labeled forbidden because they were extremely dangerous if they fell into the wrong hands.
Tobirama served as the teacher of Hiruzen Sarutobi, who went on to become the longest-serving Hokage in the Hidden Leaf's history. The training also helped Hiruzen to reach his potential, which in turn allowed him to become one of the most powerful Kage of all time.
4 Minato Namikaze
Minato Namikaze was known as the "Yellow Flash of the Leaf." He gained the moniker because of his ridiculous teleportation jutsu. With this jutsu, Minato was able to face platoons of enemy ninjas on his own. He also played a key role in the Hidden Leaf's victory in the Third Great Ninja War.
Minato trained Obito, Rin, and Kakashi. Despite Obito's heinous crimes, Minato was able to forgive him and even prevented Kakashi from killing his best friend. Furthermore, Minato's influence helped Kakashi to better understand the meaning of teamwork and the other basic qualities of being a ninja.
3 Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen Sarutobi served as the Third Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. He was trained by the First and Second Hokage, and despite not having any special Kekkei Genkai, Hiruzen ended up surpassing both of them. Hiruzen gained the epithet of "God of Shinobi," and "The Professor," which was due to him being able to use all kinds of jutsu.
He trained Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade. All three of them went on to become extremely powerful ninjas and etched their names forever in the history books. Hiruzen was also the first person to conduct the bell test, which taught his students about the importance of teamwork and coordination.
2 Kakashi Hatake
After his heroics in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kakashi was elected as the Sixth Hokage. Even after losing his Sharingan, Kakashi is still considered one of the strongest characters in the series. Before he became the Hokage, Kakashi was appointed the leader of Team 7.
The team consisted of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. The former two went on to become the strongest ninjas in history, while Sakura is currently the most powerful kunoichi alive. Kakashi taught Sasuke how to use Chidori, which became the latter's signature attack. Later, he also helped Naruto to create Rasenshuriken, which is one of the strongest techniques in the entire series. The Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki is generally regarded as the anime's most powerful character. Hagoromo rebelled against his mother and defeated her with the help of his brother. After sealing her away, Hagoromo gained the power of the Ten-Tails, which made him even stronger.
