During Ubisoft's E3 2019 Showcase, a new comedy series was announced from Rob McElhenney, creator of the popular sitcom, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet follows a video game developer that's working on the first expansion for their incredibly successful MMORPG, Mythic Quest. The series is currently in development for Apple's new streaming service, AppleTV+, which is scheduled to release this Fall alongside their gaming subscription service Apple Arcade.

Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet is being created by Rob McElhenney, alongside It's Always Sunny alums Charlie Day, Megan Ganz, and David Hornsby who all serve as Executive Producers on the series. McElhenney plays Ian Grimm, an egotistical Creative Director obsessed with making Mythic Quest a cultural touchstone alongside ET, Star Wars, and Avatar. “Like most of the creative directors I’ve met, he has the ego the size of a city bus,” McElhenney said on stage during the showcase.

The trailer serves as an in-world advertisement for the expansion, however, the focus remains on Creative Director Ian Grimm, ending with Grimm presenting a shirtless image on himself to his staff. The cast of Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet includes Murray Abraham (Homeland), Danny Pudi (Community), Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris), David Hornsby (It's Always Sunny), Charlotte Nicdao (A gURLs wURLd) and Jessie Ennis (Better Call Saul), and well-known video game voice artist, Ashly Burch, known for her roles in Horizon Zero Dawn, Life is Strange, and as Tiny Tina in Borderlands 2.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is currently in production on its 14th season, meaning that if the Mythic Quest series is well received, there could be another longtem partnership ahead for Rob McElhenney and the team at Ubisoft. And with the announcement that Mythic Quest would be released on AppleTV+, it appears that Ubisoft is making a big effort to move into the realm of film and television, having just announced that Tom Clancy's The Division will receive a Netflix adaptation as well.

No information was given regarding the release window for the series but based on the AppleTV+ Fall 2019 release window, it's possible we may hear more before the end of the year.

Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet will be releasing on AppleTV+.
