In My Time at Sandrock, there are four items needed to make the Crane. One of these items is something called Thick Rope, and players will need several to finish this early-game commission.

The Commission in My Time at Sandrock

After creating the Recycler in My Time at Sandrock, players will be called into Yan's office for "an emergency." Rocky needs each of the two new builders to make one Crane Lift each. This is one of the first couple of quests in the game, and it is called "Picking Up the Slack." Picking up the quest gives the blueprints for the Crane automatically. The recipe is as follows:

  • 8 Bricks
  • 4 Bearing
  • 5 Copper Stick
  • 5 Wooden Stick
  • 6 Thick Rope

To make the Bricks in this upcoming farming simulation game, the Furnace is required. The Bearings can be created by Recycling Metal waste, the Wooden Sticks by recycling Wood waste or with the Workbench, and the Copper Sticks by Recycling the Copper waste. But the Thick Rope requires a recipe that players won't automatically get.

In order to get the recipe for the Thick Rope in this sequel to My Time at Portia, head to the Commerce Guild where Yan works. When entering the door, look to the right; on the right side of Yan's desk will be a cash register. Interact with the register and look for the Thick Rope blueprints. It will cost 18 gols.

The Recipe for Thick Rope in My Time at Sandrock

In order to make Thick Rope, players will need to collect plenty of plant fibers. Thankfully, these are all over the place in this rural video game town. Players can:

  • Kick apart tumbleweeds by chasing them and running into them three times
  • Cut down any of the bush-like plants (but no cutting trees; that's illegal in My Time at Sandrock).
  • Pick any of the small plants like Oregano that can be picked by hand

Any of these should provide sufficient plant fibers to make all the Thick Rope anyone in Sandrock will ever need. Next, head back to the Workbench and create all the Ropes needed. Only six are required for the Crane Lift, but players will need these for other commissions, furniture, and other items in the future. The Workbench will produce these Ropes instantly and put them in the player's inventory.

My Time at Sandrock will be in Early Access on May 26, 2022.
