The quiet town in My Time At Sandrock isn't exactly the biggest one out there in the desert, but there's definitely a lot of ground to cover between points of interest in the wild and the important establishments within the cozy settlement itself. This leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to moving around.

New Stardew Valley-Like Game is Already a Big Hit

A new game with strong Stardew Valley vibes has been very successful since its launch, appearing at the top of the sales charts.

Luckily, My Time At Sandrock has a fast travel feature that many players might have glossed over as they were starting. It doesn't have the same freedom that fast travel features in other games have, but it's still a welcome option for players who find running around to be a tad too tedious.

How to Fast Travel in My Time At Sandrock

A Yakmel Station in My Time At Sandrock's map

To quickly travel around Sandrock, players need to visit the Yakmel Stations placed around important parts of the map. These appear as ordinary waiting sheds — using one lets players pick a different Yakmel Station as their destination. Soon enough, a Yakmel-powered carriage will arrive to whisk players away to wherever they chose on the map.

Using Yakmel Stations cost Gols but thankfully, the cost is usually in single-digit territory. This does go up based on distance, so make sure to have some spare change when taking long trips. Also, fast traveling will still advance in-game time when used.

Yakmel Stations are marked on the map as little green signs with horns. There are four of them in Sandrock: one near the train station, another by the church, one more near the Catori's museum, and the last is in front of Zeke's Moisture Farm. Keep these locations in mind to save time. The Moisture Farm is particularly hard to reach given its distance to the workshop.

Players will eventually get the opportunity to build Yakmel Stations of their own. In the Get Con-yak-ted quest, Yan commissions the player and Mi-an to build Yakmel Stations in Gecko Station, the Eufaula Desert, and the Badlands. These locations are outside of Sandrock, and players will want to have fast travel points leading to and from them as soon as possible.

Yakmel Stations cost the following resources:

  • 4x Bronze Stick
  • 4x Rough Cloth
  • 2x Hardwood Planks
  • 4x Rubber Shell

These stations have no other use outside of serving as fast travel points. If push comes to shove, they can be built and sold for approximately 400 Gols or donated to the museum for 20 reputation points.

Keep in mind that players can purchase horses to use as mounts. They're great for general mobility, and they are often the better option when it comes to moving inside Sandrock itself. Still, fast traveling is almost instantaneous, and it'll save players from a lot of tedium in the long run.
