How to Get Sharpening Stones in My Time At Sandrock

Buying Sharpening Stones in My Time At Sandrock

Sharpening Stones have two main sources: chests and Hammer Time, the store owned by the resident blacksmith Hugo. This shop is on the outer side of Sandrock, right next to Owen's Blue Moon Saloon and almost directly facing the player's workshop.

Hugo almost always has a pair of Sharpening Stones in his store. The only problem here is that each piece costs about 400-500 Gols. This is a lot of money early on, and not many players will be able to afford one without draining their entire wallet.

Earning money in My Time At Sandrock is fairly simple. Apart from doing main quests, players can take on commissions from the people of Sandrock for a quick payday. Commissions often involve building items and delivering them to the person who ordered the commission. Early on, jobs pay around 200 Gols along with some XP and positive relationship points with the commissioner. More complicated jobs reward more money.

A hidden chest in My Time At Sandrock

Chests have a random chance of giving Sharpening Stones and other goodies. Sandrock is full of hidden treasure chests that are hard to spot and even harder to reach. To make the search easier, unlock the Treasure Knowledge perk to make all treasure chests appear on the minimap.

Players who have an abundance of materials can opt to sell those for a quick buck. Materials like Gold and rare items like Shiny Scorpions tend to sell for a lot, and they'll fetch an even higher sum of Gols when the day's market prices are favorable to sellers. Keep an eye on the graph to the left of a vendor's store screen to check if the number there is positive or negative (the former is bad, while the latter is good).

Getting this perk to Level 2 also grants a 10% chance for chests to shower players with Gol, potentially giving enough players to buy Sharpening Stones. Chests can be farmed to an extent by going to The Breach in Sandrock.
