Having a steady supply of money is a problem that all players in My Time at Sandrock have to deal with. Without any capital, they'll be hard-pressed when it comes to accessing dungeons or buying emergency supplies for when things go south.

Upcoming Switch Indie Takes Stardew Valley to Fallout’s Wasteland

A title announced during the Indie World showcase combines the gameplay and aesthetic of Stardew Valley with a dangerous post-apocalyptic wasteland.

The start of My Time at Sandrock may be a little rough when it comes to making money, but it gradually loosens up once players gain access to some of the town's most lucrative services. Here are some of the best ways to get Gols without needing to do any overly complicated activities.

How to Make Money in My Time at Sandrock

A large pile of junk in My Time At Sandrock

In the beginning, money will be a little tight. The resources players have access to will be limited, and they'll likely need to spend some of their Gols to buy water for their workshop, craftable item blueprints, and food. During this time, the best way to earn money is to complete main quests and side missions.

Doing quests isn't the fastest way to earn money, but much of the game is locked behind the main quests (indicated by golden icons/markers). These usually reward players hundreds of Gols at a time while simultaneously unlocking new features, such as the ability to enter the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins, a dungeon-like area with plenty of ores and loot to collect.

The Commission Board at My Time At Sandrock

Once players reach the point where they need to spend more Gols for dungeon entrance fees or other essential expenses, the best way to make money is to complete commissions and sell excess materials. To get a commission, go to the Commerce Guild's commission board and pick anything that's available. Then, it's only a matter of building whatever's being asked for and handing the item over to the commissioner. This is a quick way to earn a few hundred Gols every day.

When it comes to selling items, it pays to aim for both quality and quantity. Players who constantly hunt high-level monsters or gather high-tier materials can turn any and all items they collect into pouches of Gol. Selling the right items can be lucrative, but this depends mostly on what players are selling. To get the best sell prices, pay attention to the current market price. This changes daily, so it might be worth gambling a bit of time in exchange for more profit.

Lastly, to maximize the amount of Gols earned from various sources, players should invest Knowledge points into the following skills in the Social Knowledge tree:

  • Chart-Topper Knowledge: Gain more Gol from the Commerce Guild's monthly rewards after placing in the top three of the Workshop Rankings
  • Quality Bonus Knowledge: Increases Gol rewards from all commissions
  • Quick Delivery Knowledge: Earn more Gol by taking and completing commissions on the same day

Of course, investing Knowledge Points into other perks will greatly increase the player's efficiency in nearly all things, from combat and mining to gathering and farming. Players should aim to make the most out of their limited daily stamina if they want to get as many Gols as possible each day.
