The Inspiration That Students at U.A High Needed

The Big Three are recognized as the top three hero candidates in all of Japan and are well known for their indomitable will and abilities. The recognition did not come through merely being strong or by having powerful quirks, but by the hard work put into mastering them. As U. A High's standard for the ideal hero, the Big Three is a testament to the school's ability in churning out the next generation of heroes to succeed the powerful All Might and Endeavor. Students who understand the hustle it takes to become the best, look towards the Big Three as inspiration, aspiring them to reach similar heights and go beyond.

Why don't you all fight me at once?

The Big Three were first introduced by Aizawa and introduced them to class 1-A as three third-year students at U.A. who stand at the top of all U.A students, causing class 1-A to be in awe. To prove his strength, Mirio takes on almost the entire class, revealing his permeation quirk, and easily defeats the students of 1-A, showing them what he is capable of and what it takes to be at the top of the student hero ladder. The Big Three also took part in the Hero Work studies and were able to work on improving their quirks and abilities from a young age. They are also on par with pro-heroes and are preordained to become top heroes shortly after they leave school.

Who Are They? What Are Their Quirks?

Each Big Three Member Has Their Own Strengths & Weaknesses

Mirio, also known by his hero name Lemillion, possesses the ability to warp and phase through solid objects. He can also make himself intangible to avoid physical attacks on him. Mirio is so popular and powerful, that he is initially considered to be All Might's successor as he also has the same positive attitude as All Might. Mirio also possesses a strong will and determination, making him the perfect candidate to serve as a role model for students who aspire to become heroes, this also includes Deku. His self-sacrificing nature and bravery get him the recognition he deserves from his peers and teachers.

Nejire who is also part of the Big Three, possesses a quirk that allows her to convert her vitality into powerful shockwaves that can be used as either a defensive or offensive attack. Nejire comes off as an affectionate and bubbly character and has a strong sense of justice and heroism in the world. She believes in striving to make the world a better place. As a member of the Big Three, Nejire also serves as a role model to aspiring heroes and is mostly admired for her intelligence and dedication to her hero work. However, she is also known to ask very direct and blunt questions when curious.

Last but not the least is Tamaki, the third member of the Big Three and known by his hero alias - Suneater. Tamaki's quirk is known as manifest, which grants him the ability to manifest the characteristics of whatever he eats. For example, if he were to eat an octopus, this would give him octopus-like characteristics, such as turning his fingers into tentacles. If he were to consume a crab, he would possess crab-like characteristics, such as a claw-like hand. Tamaki is seen to be socially awkward and is the polar opposite of his peer's outgoing personalities.

While the Big Three may come across shining, each of them had their own battle to face in order to reach the level they are at now. Mirio had to gain full control over his quirk in order to stop himself falling through the ground. Nejire had to learn how to control her energy as excessive use of it results in her becoming severely weakened. Tamaki on the other hand, stirs in self-doubt and had to learn to overcome his doubts, so he could use his quirk effectively. What brings the Big Three together apart from their quirks is their friendship. The trio rely on each other and their deep connection because of their shared experiences as well as the growth they experienced as developing heroes.
