In this Saga, fans have been introduced to quite a lot of his incredible abilities, with a lot of them actually being lost as well.

13 Keen Intellect

Using His Intelligence

Midoriya using One For All: Full Cowling in My Hero Academia

Deku is one of the smartest people in the world of My Hero Academia. While he didn't have any Quirks bestowed upon him at birth, he did have a smart head on his shoulders. Even before becoming a Hero student, he had already kept a record of the strengths and weaknesses of the majority of the Heroes and studied them to his advantage.

Growing up, Izuku only used this intellect to his advantage in the many battles that he fought, and using his extraordinary creativity, turned even the toughest of situations in his favor, showing his immense skill as a Hero. Out of all of Deku's powers, his intellect might just be the most underrated one. However, it is also one of the most useful and seen as early as when Deku used it to gain admission into U.A during his entrance exam. Since then, his keen intellect has only grown and, currently, he is one of the smartest characters in the entire series

12 Willpower

The Strongest Resolve

My Hero Academia Izuku Midoriya

Just like the majority of shonen protagonists, Deku possesses incredible willpower. This has been seen on countless occasions in the story, such as when he aimed to become a great Hero despite not having a Quirk.

Izuku has fought against overwhelming odds and conquered the toughest of situations, all thanks to his incredible willpower. He's beaten some of the most powerful enemies, such as Muscular and Chisaki, and even fought the likes of Shigaraki Tomura by putting his life on the line.

11 Leadership

Takes Charge In Tricky Situations

My Hero Academia Izuku Midoriya Deku Gloves

Being the protagonist of My Hero Academia, it is no surprise that one of the very best Deku powers is his leadership ability. Often, in the toughest of situations, he takes charge of the situation and ends up leading his classmates into battle.

Using his strategic mind, Izuku often lays out plans and makes sure everyone sticks to them. Due to this characteristic of his, Izuku has the trust and the faith of all those around him, including strong characters such as Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki as well.

10 Smokescreen

Vestige: En

Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Academia

Smokescreen is an emitter type of Quirk that once belonged to the sixth user of One For All, En. Later, this power awoke within Izuku Midoriya as well and has only grown stronger since due to Quirk Singularity. Smokescreen allows Midoriya to produce a thick smoke from his body to keep himself from the sights of his enemies and also take them by surprise.

The smoke produced can cover a very wide area and is usually enough to cause problems to anyone. Too much smoke, however, can cause navigational problems from Deku as well. Maintaining a perfect balance of its power is the key to using it as efficiently as possible.

The power of Smokescreen was truly impeccable, however, when compared to the other quirks that izuku possesses, it wasn't all that special. Still, it was an ability that he utilized greatly especially when his back was against the wall. Unfortunately, Izuku ended up losing the power of Smokescreen in the Final War Saga, where it was eventually transferred to none other than Shigaraki. This essentially means that this particular vestige of the One For All has now been lost forever.

9 Danger Sense

Vestige: Hikage Shinomori

My Hero Academia Deku Danger Sense Quirk

Formerly wielded by Hikage Shinomori, the fourth user of One For All, Danger Sense is quite a special ability. As the name suggests, this power allows the user to sense danger in their immediate surroundings. When used properly, it grants a sixth sense ability to the user and thus warns them of danger nearby before it even arrives.

It does, however, cause mild pain to the user when triggered. According to Deku, this can be controlled with enough training. After Hikage, this Quirk awoke within Izuku Midoriya. As expected, the powers of this Quirk under Midoriya is several times greater than it was under Hikage Shinomori.

Of course, when it comes to utility, Danger Sense was the most exceptional Quirk that Izuku had up his sleeve. This Quirk allowed him a sixth sense that, while different from giving a physical boost, aided him tremendously in battle. That is why the loss of this Quirk hit extremely hard for Deku. It was stolen from him by Shigaraki in their final battle. Shigaraki was able to take it away from Izuku when he least expected it, and after that, he went on to make impeccable use of it himself. Unfortunately for Deku, this power is gone forever.

8 Float

Vestige: Nana Shimura

Deku Float Quirk

Float was the Quirk of the seventh user of One For All and the teacher of All Might, Nana Shimura. After being passed down to Izuku Midoriya, this power awoke within him during the Paranormal Liberation War arc while fighting against Shigaraki Tomura.

These are some of the worst quirks that ever graced the world of My Hero Academia.

As the name suggests, Float allows the user to levitate in midair. While the basic power that it offers is quite simple, when combined with the stockpiled energy of One For All, it can be used to fly at high speeds, making it one of the most special powers in the world of My Hero Academia.

While float did allow Deku to fly, it is a power that was doubly special for him since it allowed him to avoid Shigaraki’s Decay powers. Unfortunately, this Quirk too has been lost by Izuku. Float, along with many other powers that were inside of Deku, was transferred to Shigaraki, so as to give Deku an opportunity to defeat the greatest of all villains in the series.

7 Blackwhip

Vestige: Daigoro Banjo

My Hero Academia Deku Manifests Blackwhip

Blackwhip belonged to the sixth user of One For All, Daigoro Banjo. In the current timeline of My Hero Academia, it was the first extra Quirk that Deku awakened during the events of a training arc. Blackwhip is quite a useful power, and it allows Midoriya to produce ropes of energy from any part of his body.

Although this ability wasn't as powerful under Daigoro Banjo, thanks to it having grown over the years, it is incredibly strong under Midoriya. Blackwhip appears to be strengthened by emotions, meaning the more intense they are, the stronger it gets. It remains to be one of Izuku Midoriya's strongest powers so far and will continue to grow as he grows stronger as well.

Being the first Quirk that Deku gained from within the One For All, it only made sense that Blackwhip was one of the last ones that stayed with him. By the time of the Final War Saga, Deku had mastered the power of Blackwhip greatly. However, Eventually, this power was lost, and this change was inevitable. Had Blackwhip not been transferred to Shigaraki, Deku would never have been able to open up a weak point and defeat him in battle.

6 Fa Jin

Vestige: Bruce

My Hero Academia Deku Fa Jin Quirk

Used formerly by the third user of One For All, Fa Jin is quite an incredible power that Izuku Midoriya awoke after the events of the Paranormal Liberation War arc. This Quirk allows him to store kinetic energy by repeating certain movements and making use of it at a later time. When released, Fa Jin grants a tremendous boost in power and speed, making the user much more dangerous in combat.

As with every other Quirk, Fa Jin is much stronger under Izuku Midoriya than it was under his predecessor. When combined with One For All and Blackwhip, Fa Jin allows Midoriya to produce strength rivaling 100% of One For All just at 45%, which just goes to show that it is an incredible ability.

When it comes to physical strength, Fa Jin might just have been the greatest asset that Deku had up his sleeve. It is because of this Quirk that Deku was primarily able to access 100% of the One For All without actually tapping into the entirety of this power. Deku made tremendous use of this ability, and his skill to combine this Quirk with other quirks inside of him was absolutely remarkable. This is a loss that Deku will feel for many years to come. Unfortunately, Deku lost the Quirk in the Final War Saga. This happened in his fight against Shigaraki, and he willingly transferred this ability inside of his body. This was done so as to open up a path to victory, given that without damaging him from the inside with the vestiges, beating him would have been impossible. The gamble eventually paid off, however, the loss remains incredibly great.

5 Transmission

Gear Shift's Ultimate Move

My Hero Academia- Vigilante Izuku

Transmission is the last Quirk that Deku inherited from the vestiges of One For All. This ability is extremely powerful and awakened during the Final War arc. Being the final ability that he awakened, this one is rather special and, while at first glance, it doesn't look as impressive as the others, its application with other Quirks certainly makes it immense. Transmission allows Deku to change the way acceleration works. Simply put, Deku can alter the acceleration of any object that he touches. While that doesn't seem all that impressive, the fact that it can ignore every law of inertia certainly makes it very scary. When this Quirk was being used by the second user of One For All, it was not deemed to be powerful and only worked on small objects.

However, now, this Quirk has grown several times stronger, thanks to being passed down from generation to generation. Transmission is now capable of working on much larger objects and humans as well. Its power was used by Deku against Shigaraki and it proved to be strong enough to give him trouble. When combined with other Quirks, it was able to beat back Shigaraki, which is certainly very impressive, considering the fact that the latter is among the very strongest in the world of My Hero Academia right now. However, this ability certainly does have a catch. It cannot be used all the time and, thus, puts the user on a time limit. Thus, Transmission can only be used as a last resort and in the fight against Shigaraki, Deku only had 5 minutes.

4 Gear Shift

Vestige: KudoDeku

Gear Shift is an exceptionally powerful ability in the arsenal of Izuku Midoriya. It might even be the strongest power that he has up his sleeve right now. Gear Shift activates when Deku uses transmission with Fa Jin.

When he uses the ability known as Gear Shift, Deku is able to accelerate his own strikes significantly and go beyond the 100% power of the One For All. According to what the manga tells the fans, every strike of Deku in this form equals 120% of the power of One For All, which is well beyond the peak of this Quirk that fans know exists.

Kudo's Gear Shift granted Deku tremendous power in battle. This power-up was temporary, however, during this period of time, Deku was absolutely unbeatable and he was even able to overwhelm Shigaraki in battle, which just goes to show the incredible prowess that it granted him on the battlefield. That is exactly why the loss of Gear Shift will be absolutely huge for Deku. Kudo willingly transferred himself inside Shigaraki's body. In fact, the entire Quirk transfer idea to weaken Shigaraki was his, to begin with. As expected, he was transferred to Shigaraki, and he managed to probe into his weakness from the inside, giving Deku a massive chance to win the battle and save the entire world for good.

3 Faux 100%

A Power Up for One For All

My Hero Academia Fa Jin Explained Deku uses Faux 100 Percent and Manchester Smash combo Season 6 Episode 21 Deku and One For All

Faux 100% was developed by Izuku shortly before the final war arc. This ability of his is extremely powerful and sees him make use of his keen intellect to get the most out of One For All. Faux 100% is simply Deku combining 45% of One For All with the kinetic energy that he has stored within himself with Fa Jin. The result is a surprising power boost of the One For All which can be considered equal to 100% of the actual Quirk without actually using all of it.

From enhancing strength to providing battlefield assistance, these quirks are essential for team success in the series.

This means that Izuku Midoriya can actually access 100% of the One For All without breaking any of his bones or pushing his body to extreme limits. In this form, Deku can unleash attacks with blinding speeds and overpower any enemy that he is fighting. Undoubtedly, this is a genius application of his Quirks and possibly the best combination that the fans have seen so far.

2 Blackchain

Blackwhip and Fa Jin Combined

Blackchain My Hero Academia

Another Quirk combination that Deku uses is Blackchain. This one sees him combine Blackwhip with Fa Jin. Fans already know Blackwhip to be a Quirk that allows Deku to produce rope-like energy tendrils from his fingers, capable of binding others, among many other things. When combined with the power of Fa Jin, Deku is able to produce a chain that is even stronger than Blackwhip.

Blackchain is powerful enough to wrap around any target and hurl them over great distances at a tremendous pace. This ability is very versatile and allows him to both attack his enemies and aid his allies at the same time. Deku used this ability against Tomura in the Final War and was able to hurl him across the battlefield. Once again, this just goes to show that Deku is still evolving as a fighter and that he is far from hitting his peak. The fact that fans have not seen the actual fight just yet means that Izuku Midoriya will continue to develop this ability further and perhaps come up with new skills as well.

1 One For All

One Of The Best Quirks

one for all my hero academia

Izuku Midoriya's strongest Quirk is, without a doubt, the One For All. This Quirk first belonged to All For One's brother, Yoichi. After him, there have been eight more users of these powers. All Might, the eighth user of One For All, passed it down to Izuku Midoriya, making him the 9th and the final user.

One For All is one of the strongest Quirks in My Hero Academia, if not the strongest. It allows the super to stockpile incredible amounts of power within their body which, when released, grants a tremendous boost in power. When mastered, One For All becomes a power greater than even All For One, which just goes to show that this Quirk is easily among the greatest to ever exist.
