Shoto Todoroki is one of the main characters in Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia. He was introduced to the fans at the very beginning of the story as the many students gathered before the UA Entrance Examination.

Since then, Shoto has become extremely important to the story, being a major part of arguably the most intense storyline in the series so far. Shoto, being the son of Endeavor, had great expectations thrust on his shoulders. With time, he has managed to live up to them and went above and beyond. Shoto has proved himself to be a brilliant Hero aspirant and someone capable of making a great name for himself in the future. Even though he has not become a Pro Hero just yet, he has already achieved quite a lot.

6 Mastered His Ice Powers Very Young

One of the biggest achievements of Shoto is the fact that he was able to master his cryokinesis powers at a very young age. Despite possessing the powers of both fire and ice, he deeply resented his father and for that reason, he chose not to make use of the former. He mastered the powers of his ice side and learned to use them at the highest level by the time he entered UA.

This in itself is quite an achievement as it just goes to show how skilled he is when it comes to combat. Despite only using one half of his Quirk, he finished second in the Quirk apprehension test and, later on, made it very far in the UA Sports Festival, only releasing the power of his fire side when he clashed against Midoriya.

5 Learned Flashfire Fist

While Shoto Todoroki certainly relied only on his ice side for the vast majority of My Hero Academia's beginning, he quickly realized that, in order to compete at the highest level, he needed to make use of all of his powers. Despite deeply resenting his father, he eventually ended up making use of his fire side as well.

However, his control over his pyrokinesis ability was certainly not as good as his cryokinesis side. To remedy that, he trained very hard and, much to the surprise of the fans, he ended up mastering it in no time. Shoto soon learned the basics of Flashfire Fist and has continued to evolve that technique over the course of time. In the final war, fans saw him make use of it with reasonable proficiency.

4 Has A Forgiving Heart

Shoto might appear to be a cold person, however, deep down, he has a very big heart. Despite suffering quite a lot of abuse as a child, he had the strength in his heart to forgive both his mother and his father. Shoto deeply cares about the Todoroki family and he has shown this on several occasions.

Whereas somebody else might've turned resentful, and rightly so, Shoto is a kind soul and was able to forgive them and work towards a better future for his family. It took quite a lot of strength and courage for him to pull off and is certainly one of his greatest achievements so far.

3 Matched Dabi In Combat

In the Final War arc of My Hero Academia, Shoto has been central to a lot of the events, especially surrounding Endeavor and his brother, Touya. Shoto ended up clashing against Touya in the war and he did extremely well, which was another testament to his strength as a Hero and an incredible sight for the fans to see.

Both the brothers let their powers loose and the fight was astronomical – certainly one of the very best in the entire series. Despite having weaker flames, Shoto was able to match Dabi blow for blow and he showed his superior intellect in battle during this fight. Sadly, Dabi ended up proving to be too much for him. However, Todoroki put up an admirable fight and it was certainly very close, which just goes to show that he is at a very high level despite only being a year one student at UA.

2 Can Keep Up With Izuku Midoriya

Todoroki is one of the three strongest students of UA's Class 1A. Along with Bakugo and Midoriya, he is known to be exceptionally powerful. Shoto can fight anyone the other two can take on in combat as well and, although Midoriya is a tad stronger than both of them, Shoto is certainly up there as well.

He also has a tremendous amount of potential that he is yet to fulfill and, once he does that, he will surely be able to contend with Midoriya even better. So far, he has done brilliantly and kept up with the protagonist of the series, despite him having the powers of the legendary One For All.

1 Worthy Of Surpassing All Might

Shoto has a tremendous amount of potential buried deep within him. While he is already on the path to fulfilling it, he is yet to bring out his true powers. According to his father, Endeavor, Shoto possesses powers great enough to surpass even All Might. Endeavor could never surpass All might and was always inferior to him, however, he strongly believes that his son can do what he couldn't.

In the future, when Todoroki grows up a bit and masters his powers a tad more, he can surely be up there in contention for the Number One Hero of all time. While his father holds the Number One position right now, he could hold it in the future. The fact that Shoto Todoroki is considered by many to be worthy of surpassing All Might is an achievement in itself.
