The following content contains spoilers from My Hero Academia, Season 6, episode 19, currently streaming on Crunchyroll. In the midst of his coma, Deku has the opportunity to meet each of One For All's Past Users as they discuss the intricacies of their shared Quirks and debate the best way to handle the overpowered Shigaraki. The sentient "spirits" are leaning towards a more violent approach, whereas Izuku stands firm in his belief that Shigaraki is the victim here, and that he must be rescued before All For One's extermination.

The gravity of the situation comes to light when Deku is informed that he could very likely be One For All's last wielder, and he is only alive today because he was born Quirkless. Unless the young Hero finds a way to end the war, the world will be forever lost to the Symbol of Evil.

Deku Vs. Muscular

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 19 review Deku Vs Muscular

Goto Imasuji makes his big come-back with all 12 000 layers of muscular fiber in tow as he rampages through the streets of Japan without a worry in the world. Having been given the freedom to "do what you want," the greatest struggle that Muscular (now known as Jailbreaker) currently faces is finding a worthy opponent. Lucky for him, Deku is willing to help out after Yo Shinado fails to be much of a challenge. Using his new Smokescreen Quirk, Deku herds the enemy to a more appropriate location and begins an interrogation process before the combat commences.

Reflecting on the revelations made while chatting with One For All's Past Users, Deku's goal is to conduct a light therapy session to try and ascertain the basis of each villain's evil. If he could understand their motivation, maybe redemption is in the cards; however, Jailbreaker evidently gets a thrill out of being the biggest bully on the block and needs to be put in his place. The last time this pair clashed, it took a 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash to succeed, which is no longer an option in Deku's current state.

Fortunately, the aftereffects of Shinado's Vibrate Quirk are long-lasting, as these intense shockwaves have messed with Jailbreaker's muscle fibers, prohibiting their retractability and weakening them severely. The quick-witted Hero picks up on this phenomenon and takes full advantage with a 45% Detroit Smash, which proves to be more than adequate at incapacitating the overpowered Muscular. He proceeds to deliver the defeated escapee to Daina Police Station's front door, shrouded by a plume of purple Smoke, before jetting off to regroup with All Might, who appears to have also gone rogue.

The Reinforcements Have Arrived

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 19 review Deku and All Might

Once Izuku had awoken from his coma, he was informed that his Quirk still has a detrimental effect on his body; however, it seems much less severe than the first time he was hospitalized (thanks to his awakened Quriks' contributions.) The Doctor urges Deku to practice caution, but it comes as no surprise when the young Hero refuses to return to the safety of U.A. High School, informing his tear-stricken mother that he plans to continue fighting. All Might had anticipated this drastic decision and, acknowledging that he won't be able to change Izuku's mind, he promises to accompany his protégé by essentially becoming “the guy in the chair.”

All Might has also organized a new support item direct from the U.S., which will provide Deku's damaged body with extra reinforcement in a similar manner to Kinesiology Tape (and Blackwhip). Although these Mid-Gauntlets are worn as gloves, they offer full body coverage; however, they are not strong enough to withstand One For All's attacks at 100%, so self-restraint is still of vital importance. It seems like most of Deku's powers must be used in moderation, as En reminds him that the Quirks within One For All have increased in potency over the years, which could have disastrous consequences if mismanaged. Izuku may have cut ties with U.A. High School, but he is never truly alone in his mission, and probably never will be, with One For All by his side.

The Dream Team!

My Hero Academia Season 6 episode 19 review The Dream Team

It is safe to say that, at this point in time, Deku is effectively a vigilante, as he technically has no official affiliation with the government. Nevertheless, he is being backed by the most prestigious Pro-Heroes around and has free reign in his crime-fighting spree, with Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, and All Might in his corner. But even so, Deku is determined to fight solo, for fear that someone else will be caught in the crossfire when Shigaraki makes his next appearance. The group keeps communications open at least, and will likely flock to Deku's side the moment the League of Villains show their faces, but they are respecting Izuku's boundaries for the most part. He is no longer viewed as just a kid and instead holds as much authority as the Pro-Heroes who have rallied around him.

The infamous Lady Nagant is the next foe in the line of fire and, although Deku seems to be getting the hang of his multiple Quirks, will his newfound redemption-seeking attitude fare well against the former Hero? Will his perceptive questions and words of wisdom result in a new ally, or could Izuku's compassion be his downfall against the purple-haired "Hired Gun," who, up until now, has been cloaked in mystery? The Second and Third Users apparently have something to say on the matter; suggesting that they might finally be ready to cooperate with the rest of the team.
