My Hero Academia Chapter 425: A New Beginning

Many students graduate in MHA 425. An intresting conclusion for the Todoroki family is underway.

All these things taken into consideration mean that My Hero Academia is more exciting now than ever before, while also being sad at the same time. Fans are waiting for this epilogue to progress further, however, it appears that My Hero Academia will be going on an extended break, as was announced recently.

The End Of The War In My Hero Academia

The War Concluded With a Resounding Victory For The Heroes

My Hero Academia delivered a very chaotic war to the fans over the course of the last year or so. The Final War was absolutely magnanimous in terms of scale, and it was one that the author drew to utmost perfection. Of course, there were some moments that the fans weren't too fond of, however, overall, the author did nail the vast majority of the big moments and managed to give screen time to almost all characters that the fans cared about. Naturally, the author can't satisfy every single reader, but still, as far as final arcs go in the Shonen series, My Hero Academia certainly delivered very well and lived up to the reputation. The war finally concluded with the death of All For One, and with him, Tenko as well, and this was certainly a very sad loss. Deku was proclaimed as the greatest Hero, and with that, the war that terrorized the entirety of Japan finally came to an end.

At the end of the day, Deku failed in his mission to save Tenko, but metaphorically, he did free him from his misery and saved his heart. Meanwhile, Japan was saved by him as well, and all the other Heroes who stood by his side also aided him in many ways. The many plot points that fans were invested in, such as the Todoroki family, Bakugo's competition with Deku, Spinner, and Twice, among many other characters were all touched upon in this Final War Saga and their stories were wrapped up in brilliant fashion. It was most definitely a fitting conclusion to the war, and with Deku's final punch, the world changed forever.

The Beginning Of The Epilogue And Horikoshi's Extended Break

Horikoshi Is Going A Short Break

Once the war concluded in My Hero Academia, fans started preparing for the end of the series. Many fans believed that they would get a couple more chapters after the conclusion of the war and that would be it. However, Horikoshi clearly announced that he had no intentions of stopping the manga after the conclusion of the war. Now, that certainly does not mean that My Hero Academia is going to continue for long. However, it also does not mean that it is going to end anytime soon. Horikoshi is an author who wants to pay as much attention to the plot points that he has established as possible.

Rushing the conclusion of the story after the end of the war would not be ideal in his opinion. According to Horikoshi, there is much more left to be tackled after the end of the war, and that is what his focus is going to be on at this point in time. That is precisely why, with My Hero Academia chapter 424, the series started tackling its epilogue. My Hero Academia chapter 425 dropped recently, and once again, fans got to see a lot of post-war events take place. The chapter took fans all over Japan and focused on many interesting events. However, while the chapter was certainly exciting, the biggest part of it was the break that came with it.

As mentioned earlier, Horikoshi is going to take an extended break. This means that My Hero Academia will not be getting a chapter this week at all. This isn't like the usual break the author takes. Fans are aware that Horikoshi usually takes a 2-week break, skipping one issue of Jump in between. This time around, this break is going to be 3 weeks long.

The series is going to officially return in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #31, which is set to drop officially around June 30, at the end of the month. This essentially means that fans have a very long wait ahead of themselves, but it is one that is also appreciated as it only gives the series more time to breathe.

What Is Next For My Hero Academia?

My Hero Academia Will Continue The Epilogue

As far as what is next for My Hero Academia goes, fans know that the author wants to focus on the epilogue of the story. There are still many plot points that need to be tied and many dreams that need to be fulfilled. This is precisely what the ending phase of the story is going to focus on, and fans need to keep that in mind. For instance, Deku becoming a proper Hero is something that fans would love to see before the series concludes. Similarly, many other Heroes' dreams, such as Ochaco making a ton of money, are things that fans would want to see as well, and of course, there are other events, such as the Todoroki Family, which require the attention of the author.

The fans are also desperately waiting to see how these story arcs will conclude. Many other characters are waiting to accomplish their dreams as well, and this is something that the author understands. In all fairness, continuing the epilogue is a brilliant move from the author, as many stories have been utterly ruined by rushed endings. This is why he decided to give a proper ending to his series where he focuses on as many things as possible.

Sadly, fans will have to wait for this epilogue to proceed further. My Hero Academia will return at the end of the month, but after that, fans should expect it to continue for a few more months, at the very least. This epilogue is going to be long. This is not the author simply giving fans a few chapters of storytelling and then calling it a day. Horikoshi is truly dedicated to giving the fans an extended epilogue, and that certainly is an exciting thing to look forward to.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 426, is set to be June 30, 2024.
