Deku is losing all his quirks against Shigaraki in MHA.

For the very first time, Deku was able to give a helping hand to Shigaraki, and that is especially what this chapter built upon. The chapter was packed with emotion to the brim, and at the same time, massive threats emerged towards the end. It is clear that the fight is in its final phase, and My Hero Academia chapter 418 did incredibly well in that regard.

Deku's Helping Hand

Deku Finally Reached Out To Shigaraki

My Hero Academia chapter 418 mostly went in the exact same direction that the fans were expecting. The fight between Shigaraki and Deku is not a fight between two extremities. It is a fight where Deku wants to see Shigaraki's past for himself and give him the helping hand that he thinks he deserves. This isn't something that's coming out of the blue. Ever since the Paranormal Liberation War arc, fans already knew that Deku would eventually try his best to help Shigaraki and save him. Failing would mean that Deku could not call himself a true hero, and, as a result, the only way forward from here onwards was to successfully pull through and make sure that Shigaraki understands his position.

This was a Paramount task, even though it looks quite easy on paper. However, with My Hero Academia chapter 418, this actually became possible. Fans got to see Deku look deep into Shigaraki's memory and see his weakest of spots. Shigaraki might have a tough exterior, however, inside, he is just as human as anyone else, and, more importantly, he has unhealed trauma that he has buried inside of him. That is exactly what Deku was targeting, and in this week's chapter, fans got to see just that. Towards the end of the last chapter, Deku witnessed the abuse that Shigaraki suffered at the hands of his father. In this week's chapter, the events that succeeded were finally witnessed by Deku.

For the very first time, Deku saw how Shigaraki awakened his Quirk, what happened to his dog, and how he was going onwards to obliterate his entire family against his own will. To Shigaraki, this was the greatest sadness and, in many ways, a sign that he was meant to destroy. This is what Shigaraki embraced eventually, and just accepted his fate. This was largely down to the fact that there was no Hero to help him when he needed a helping hand the most. However, in My Hero Academia chapter 418, Deku was in Shigaraki's path to stop him. A child version of Deku was able to stop a child version of Shigaraki and, even though it was quite difficult for him to withstand the power of Decay, he managed to do that flawlessly, showcasing why he is a true Hero, and, above all, why he will always stand on his ideals, no matter what.

Shigaraki's Wavering Faith

My Hero Academia chapter 418 finally gave fans a glimpse of Shigaraki's weakest slide. Up until now, he has always been resolute in what he wants. Shigaraki wanted destruction and he wanted to create a new world order, and that is something that fans have seen him rambling on about for quite a long time. He has even been called destruction incarnate by the vestiges of the One For All, however, to Deku, that does not appear to be the case. To him, Shigaraki is not a human who needs help and a guiding hand. Deku cannot forgive what Shigaraki has done, however, what he can do is make sure that he causes no more harm in the future, and above all, gets the helping hand that he needs.

When Will My Hero Academia End?

My Hero Academia’s story reaches its climax and will end soon.

After Deku tried to stop Shigaraki in the memory world, the real Shigaraki started to falter. This was incredible for the fans to see and was something that they did not expect in the slightest. Finally, Shigaraki started wondering if the fight that he was fighting was right and what would happen to the goals of his comrades if he stops fighting.

While Shigaraki did not completely give up, it was evident from what happened next that he had, in fact, softened and was moved by Deku's efforts towards saving his past self that, long ago, received no helping hand from anyone.

All For One's Return

My Hero Academia chapter 418 ended on quite a scary note. Even though Shigaraki was starting to break down and Deku was slowly clinching the victory in this battle, as well as making Shigaraki understand his point of view, the worst happened when All For One popped out of nowhere. As fans know, Bakugo already defeated All For One, and as a result, this couldn't be the actual person. However, fans also know for a fact that Shigaraki was suppressing the powers of All For One inside of him. However, now that his ideals are wavering for the first time, Shigaraki is weak, and potentially, this opens room for All For One to take over.

In the memory world, All For One stood resolute in front of Shigaraki and Deku, and chastised the boy on his wavering ideals. All For One made fun of the fact that Deku was able to move him, and at the same time, started to take over. Both Deku and Shigaraki started falling into a bottomless pit, and this is to signify that the presence of All For One was way too great for them to counter.

However, this opens up a very interesting door for Deku and Shigaraki to combine their strength and fight together against All For One. For the very first time, two extremes will be joining their strength and suppressing All For One, and if they manage to do that, then, Shigaraki will truly be on Deku's side. This could end up being a beautiful finale to this amazing fight that the fans have witnessed over the course of the last few months.

At the moment, it is unclear how much All For One will manifest himself in the upcoming few chapters, however, it is highly likely that this fight against All For One in the memory world might just be the last in My Hero Academia.

With each passing chapter, it is evident to the fans that My Hero Academia is edging closer to its end, and fans absolutely cannot wait for this battle to conclude, and the post-war events to finally be covered. The world of My Hero Academia has been chaotic for many years now, and it is finally time for fans to witness some peace, and at the same time, some light-hearted fun between their beloved characters before the series wraps up. Of course, all that will be presented later down the line, and for now, fans simply have to sit back and wait for this incredible battle to conclude.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 419, is set to be April 7, 2024.
