Highlights

  • U.A. High is the most prestigious hero school with a reputation unmatched by other hero academies in the My Hero Academia world.
  • Shiketsu High comes second in terms of reputation and has a cordial relationship with U.A. High, prioritizing the well-being and safety of their students.
  • Ketsubutsu Academy has a one-sided rivalry with U.A. High and focuses on outshining them, while Seiai Academy and Seijin High School have made less of an impact in the hero world. U.A. High stands out for its notable alums, exceptional teachers, and inclusive approach to hero training.

With over 80% of the My Hero Academia population born with superhuman abilities, it is normal that schools are in place to train students to become heroes. U.A. High is the number one hero school in Japan. This prestigious school has trained notable pro heroes like Endeavor and All Might. It is the dream of every young aspiring hero to attend U.A. High.

In the My Hero Academia series, there are other hero schools around Japan, but they all lack the reputation that U.A. High has successfully built for itself. These hero schools do well in training heroes, but fans have yet to see any notable hero from any other hero schools apart from U.A. High.

Hero Schools In My Hero Academia

UA and Shiketsu

U.A. High is the most prestigious but not the only hero school in the My Hero Academia world. Other hero schools do well in training students to become heroes, but they do not seem as good as U.A. High.

Shiketsu High School is the next known hero academy after U.A. High. This school, in the west of Japan, has a good reputation close to that of U.A. High. One of its students, Inasa Yoarashi, caught fans' attention during the Provisional Hero License Exam. Yoarashi said he was a highly recommended student for U.A. High but rejected the offer and chose to study at Shiketsu High.

Ketsubutsu Academy is another well-known hero academy. This school made its debut during the Provisional Hero License Exam. It can be freely speculated that the goal of Ketsubutsu Academy is to outrank U.A. High. They attempt this every year in the Provisional Hero License Exam.

Isamu Academy High School appeared only in the anime. They paid a visit to U.A. High after the U.A. sports festival. Fans know little about this school besides visiting and participating in a training exercise with Class-1A students of U.A. High.

Seiai Academy made its debut at the Provisional Hero Exam. This hero academy appears to be an all-girls school. Their class leader's quirk, IQ, made this school stand out. Saiko Intelli's quirk allows her to process large amounts of information quickly. She tried to use her quirk to distract some of the Class-1A members but failed. Additionally, Seiai Academy appears only in the anime.

Seijin High School debuted during the Provisional Hero Exam. There were about ten students of Seijin High at the Hero Exam, and all ten cornered Todoroki. They believed since they outnumbered him, they could take him on. To their surprise, Todoroki defeated them despite their numbers and quirks. This victory led Todoroki to the next stage of the exam.

U.A High Vs. Other Hero Schools

UA and other hero schools

U.A High's reputation seems unmatched, but Shiketsu High comes second. Unlike other hero academies, U.A. High produced some of the greatest heroes in the My Hero Academia world. Heroes like All Might, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Endeavor, and Midnight were all trained by U.A. High. Shiketsu Academy teaches students to treat their heroes' status with respect and dignity. This academy also partnered with U.A. High to counter villain attacks against their students. Shiketsu Academy was the first hero school to implement security measures to their school after Himika Toga, a villain, impersonated a student of Shiketsu Academy, Camie.

U.A. High and Shiketsu Academy have a cordial relationship, and they consider their students' well-being and safety very important. Ketsubustu Academy, on the other hand, has a one-sided rival with U.A. High. This school makes it a yearly tradition to outshine U.A. students at the Provisional Exams. Ketsubustu Academy did well in the Provisional Exams; all eight students passed and got their provisional licenses. Fans may note that these students are only interested in looking better than U.A. High rather than genuine interest in being heroes for the sake of humanity. There is little information about Seiai Academy besides its students' unsuccessful attempt to defeat some of the Class-1A students of U.A. High at the Provisional Exam. Out of the 10 students that appeared, only one managed to stand out, Saiko Intelli. She stood out because of her IQ quirk. Seijin High School gained recognition when all its students were singlehandedly beaten by Shoto Todoroki. This defeat kicked all of them out of the Provisional Exams.

Isamu Academy is the only hero academy that did not participate in the Provisional Hero Exam. They briefly gained recognition during their visit to U.A.

The Best Hero School

U.A. High

U.A. High might be the best hero academy because of its notable alums and teachers. These other hero academies lack the caliber of teachers U.A High has, like All Might, former number-one pro hero. Conversely, U.A. has several security precautions in place to protect its students from villains and members of the press.

What is more outstanding about U.A. High is its accommodation of other students who did not make the Hero department or have no interest in being heroes. U.A. also allows students to use their technical and creative skills to make equipment and gadgets for heroes in the support department. This school also has a department for students interested in managing heroes and owning a hero academy to contribute to the hero society rather than being on the front lines.

U.A High showcases itself as an all-rounder hero academy, a trait that might be missing in other hero academies. This school also aims to provide the best for all its students, regardless of whether they want to be on the frontlines or in a supporting category.
