Toshinori Yagi was once a quirkless student at U.A. High who wanted to be a hero, just like Izuku Midoriya. Toshinori received the powerful One For All quirk from Nana Shimura before her deadly battle with All For One. In doing so, he finally became a hero, going by All Might, and becomes the strongest and number one hero in the My Hero Academia world. In addition, he became the Symbol of Peace in Japan, as his mere presence reduced crime by three percent.

All Might was the greatest in his prime, and he had no weaknesses. He was unstoppable, much to the dismay of villains, especially All For One. Unfortunately for All Might and the My Hero Academia world, All For One is able to cause life-threatening damage to All Might, forcing him to become weak and eventually leave the hero scene. The world knew All Might as the strongest, but now they can only see his weakness as he is a shell of his former self.

6 The Chest Wound

Caused By All For One

All Might

One can receive only so many punches before it leaves a mark, and All Might has taken many punches from random villains and All For One. All Might is the only hero who faced All For One twice, and the second battle left All Might hanging by a thread. He was able to put All For One in a pretty bad state, but as the anime progresses, fans see All For One slowly recover. Meanwhile, All Might has to leave the hero scene because of the visible chest wound he sustained.

My Hero Academia: 5 Biggest Weaknesses Deku Has

Deku is slowly becoming the ideal hero, but with these weaknesses, he still has a long way to go.

This wound is one of All Might’s greatest weaknesses because, without it, he would have still been the number one hero in Japan. The injury abruptly sucked the life out of him, and he was not ready to stop being All Might. Without a choice, he began his search for his successor. Even though he already has one, he meets young Izuku Midoriya, who reminds him so much of his younger self that he makes him his successor.

5 The Idea That Everyone Can Be Saved

The Symbol Of Peace

All Might

This is a trait most heroes in My Hero Academia have, and in as much as it is admirable, All Might still wants to save people even when he is suffering from the impact of All For One’s blow. Most heroes in My Hero Academia need to understand that in order to save people, they need to be in their best shape, and give themselves time when they need to recover.

All Might wanted to preserve his legacy as the Symbol of Peace, even to his obvious detriment. But if the world sees him in a weak state without a successor in place, it will have a negative impact, as villains will begin to disrespect him. Luckily, he meets young Midoriya in the nick of time and begins to train him to be his successor.

4 All Might Had No Contact With Previous Users Of One For All

Could Not Access Their Quirks

My Hero Academia One For All Predecessors users

Fans can agree that All Might was the best during his prime, but imagine how unstoppable he would have been if he had the connection to other users like Midoriya does. If All Might was able to use all the past users’ quirks, maybe he would have been able to defeat All For One permanently.

While one of One for All's primary objective is to transfer, not all quirks are compatible with this ability.

In the Dark Hero Arc, fans see Deku fully utilize all the quirks One For All has, but he is still not at 100% og his potential. One can only imagine the impact All Might would have made if he could use all their quirks. Regardless, he was still able to make quite an impact.

3 Taking Up The Spotlight

Overshadowed Every Other Hero

Endeavor watching All Might

When a villain broke free or trouble arose, All Might was always there to save the day. That was great in general because it showed he could be relied upon; however, it was not good for other heroes, as they could not shine with All Might being in the spotlight all the time.

There was no space for other heroes to thrive, and they barely got any recognition from civilians. This is why Endeavour was obsessed with giving birth to a child who could become stronger and one day defeat All Might. Once All Might was no longer active, the public's fate in heroes was quickly rocked.

2 All Might Was 'Too Kind'

Looking For The Good In Everyone

All Might

Some villains in the My Hero Academia world do not deserve any form of kindness. As someone who always saw the good in villains and deemed them fit for redemption, All Might rarely employed dangerous force in his fights (except in unavoidable cases). He always wanted to give them a second chance, but these villains did not care. If they had their way, they would get rid of All Might permanently.

All Might was lucky enough to face All For Once twice. The second time should have been enough to finally get rid of the greatest threat of all time, but unfortunately, All Might failed. He was too kind and could not bring himself to finish off his foe, even though All For One had no trouble doing so.

1 Attachment To Being The Symbol Of Peace

Letting Go

All Might

Before All Might retired, he was filled with self-doubt and deep concern for the world. After his second fight with All For One, it was evident that he would have to retire due to his chest wound. Unable to let go of his status as the Symbol of Peace, he tried as much as possible to drag out his retirement.

He battled with this new reality as a soon-to-be ex-hero, but with the help of Sir Nighteye and his encounter with Izuku Midoriya, who became his successor, he was able to leave the spotlight and retire as All Might. In the end, this is a weakness he was able to overcome.

Superhero

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
