Is My Hero Academia's Final War Arc Failing?

Will My Hero Academia receive a final arc that will leave the fans satisfied?

My Hero Academia has taken fans on a roller coaster journey, especially over the course of the last few chapters. With the fight between All Might and All For One concluding and All Might being fully defeated, fans were fully preparing themselves for his death, however, it appears that he will not die, after all. Against all odds, Bakugo steps into the battlefield, as seen in the previous chapter and, from here onwards, it appears that he is going to be the one responsible for saving the former Number One Hero and the Symbol of Peace.

Bakugo's Death

Bakugo's Quirk Explosion

Bakugo has fought bravely in the Final War Saga. He was a very active player towards the early parts of the war and he even confronted Shigaraki along with other Heroes at his aid. He fought incredibly well, even landing some terrific blows on him. He managed to show his immense growth during this fight and shocked the fans as well as the spectators of the battle. Bakugo took his Quirk to new heights during this fight and, thanks to aid from Eraserhead, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and even Mirio, the assault proved to be strong enough to hold Shigaraki back for quite a long time.

However, in the end, Shigaraki did end up prevailing. When it comes to his fight with Bakugo, he delivered a powerful attack and blew a hole in his body. Bakugo's internal organs, including his heart, were completely ruptured and he was on the brink of death. Fans had absolutely prepared themselves for the worst and it appeared that he was about to die. This would have been a massive loss for My Hero Academia, given how popular the character of Bakugo really is.

He is one of the main characters in the show and one who is loved by fans far and wide. His redemption journey has been incredibly fun for fans to witness and, had it come to a conclusion without being fulfilled, then it would certainly have been a blow to not just his character progression but also the entire manga series. A lot of the fans held out hope that he would be saved somehow and that is precisely what ended up happening shortly after his chest was ripped open.

How Bakugo Was Saved

In the end, Bakugo was saved by none other than Best Jeanist and Edgeshot. These two collaborated in saving Bakugo and the latter was even ready to give his own life up. This was a major sacrifice from him, but also a strange one at the same time. Fans know of no connection between Edgeshot and Bakugo and for him to sacrifice his life willingly for someone he barely knows was rather strange.

My Hero Academia Sets Up Its Biggest Death So Far

All Might could be about to die in My Hero Academia.

Nonetheless, that is exactly what ended up happening and Bakugo was rescued from a near-death situation. This was done by edgeshot using his Foldabody to enter his heart and then turn himself into strings that Best Jeanist could then help with. These two collaborated to save the future of the hero society and successfully did so. However, Bakugo was not back for quite a while. The injury that he received was gruesome and even if he was saved, fans were absolutely certain that he would be out of the war for quite a long time. That is why Bakugo stayed out of the manga for over a year and it got to a point that fans did not even expect him again in the Final War Saga. However, My Hero Academia chapter 403 surprised everyone when Bakugo made his return in a grand manner.

Bakugo's Return In My Hero Academia

Bakugo's Physical Strain

In My Hero Academia chapter 403, fans could see All Might fail in his attempt to take down All For One. He intended to blow himself up and deal terrible damage to All For One in the process. While this plan was certainly brave and would have defeated All For One for good, it did not come to fruition. All For One used one of his Quirks to skewer All Might's arms and his explosion bracers at the same time.

He could not make use of Explosion and, at the same time, his final hope was absolutely crushed. All For One then proceeded to use Bloodcurdle to paralyze him and then completely break his spirit. All Might was on the brink of death, finally accepting that he had lost the fight.

All For One proceeded to show to the whole world how he was going to kill All Might and shortly before that happened, Bakugo entered the battle. This came as a shock to the vast majority of the fans and, at the same time, Deku as well, who was busy fighting against Shigaraki in the meantime. Bakugo and Deku crossed paths once again and it is up to these two now to save the hero world. Bakugo has not done anything just yet, however, he's just getting started and it is going to be up to him to save All Might from death.

Will Bakugo Save All Might?

All might death All for one plan my hero academia 402

Bakugo will absolutely be the one who saves All Might here and there is no doubt about that. As soon as All Might's era came to an end, it was the next generation who picked up the pieces and decided to follow in his footsteps. All Might lost all his power but the next generation picked has now taken over. Bakugo will be one of the leading Heroes of the next generation and he's certainly going to be the one who fulfills a great role here by saving All Might. This will also be doubly special for him, simply because Bakugo believes himself to be the one who ended All Might, and fans already know that he held himself responsible for that for quite a long time. Even now, these feelings are likely lingering within him and he wants to do everything he possibly can to save the Symbol of Peace. Bakugo will now redeem himself and save All Might from dying, and, at the same time, quell the pain that was in his heart.

This is certainly going to be a very beautiful moment in My Hero Academia that fans cannot wait for. Fans should absolutely expect Bakugo to launch a powerful attack on All For One in the next chapter and save All Might in the process. He will now be the one responsible for taking down All For One and, perhaps, he will do so in a collaborative effort with All Might, or if Bloodcurdle doesn't wear off, then it will be all up to the young Hero to finish off All For One, while Deku deals with Shigaraki shortly afterwards.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 403, is set to be October 15, 2023.
