My Hero Academia chapter 386 just released and it was, undoubtedly, a chapter that lived up to the expectations set by the previous one. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that this chapter surpassed the previous one by quite a mile. As expected, focus was thrown on the characters of Shoto Todoroki and Iida, among others.
At the same time, fans saw glimpses of All For One in the chapter, however, the focus of the chapter was Dabi. As fans know, Dabi is currently engaging Endeavor in battle, however, very little has been revealed of this fight so far. My Hero Academia chapter 386 displayed that and much more and it is safe to say that this fight is now reaching its boiling point.
Dabi's Plan
In the previous chapter, fans saw that Shoto and Iida were both up and attempting to rejoin the battle. Both of them are exhausted from previous battles. After using Phosphor, Shoto is extremely tired, however, he still wants to fight. His opponent, Dabi, meanwhile, has been fighting against none other than Endeavor. As fans know already, this fight has been going on for quite a while and Dabi plans to destroy everything that Endeavor holds dear. In this chapter, it was revealed to Tsukauchi that Dabi is planning something sinister. Little by little, he has been storing power within his body in the form of flames. These flames are being concentrated into a small core which is now reaching its pinnacle.
In a very short time, this core is going to explode and Dabi's body is going to disintegrate with it. Once it does explode, it is going to cremate everything within a radius of 5 km. This means that both the cities of Gunga and Ito are going to be caught up in the explosion and there will be mass casualties. While the evacuation has been going on for quite a while, that is not enough time to evacuate everyone, which means Dabi might get a symbolic victory even in death.
Shoto's Last Stand
Once Tsukauchi found out about this information, the chapter shifted focus to Shoto. It was there that Shoto revealed his desire to rejoin the fight. Even though he did not manage to defeat his brother, there is still something that he can do. According to him, a Hero must always fight and save people and while Midoriya is battling against All For One, he needs to do what needs to be done. Immediately after, the chapter took a surprising turn of events when All Might contacted Shoto and told him about what was going to happen.
All Might let him know that his brother was planning to disintegrate and self-destruct and that the explosion would take countless other souls with it. Giving him the belief that he needed, All Might told him to be the person that he was always born to be. Iida was told to use his Quirk to carry Shoto to where Dabi is and there, Shoto will have to settle things once and for all. This setup is very intriguing as it is going to lead to the final fight of the Todoroki family. With Endeavor, Dabi, and Shoto all there, the conflict will be settled and the fate of Dabi will be decided.
The Return Of All Might
Undoubtedly, the most surprising part of My Hero Academia chapter 386 came towards the end when All Might decided that it is time for him to step into battle. While Shoto was initially planning to aid Deku in the fight, All Might told him to handle his brother and do what needed to be done. Meanwhile, the threat of All For One, who is continually growing stronger and heading towards Shigaraki, was to be taken on by none other than All Might himself. Despite not having a Quirk, All Might has decided to join the battle.
Tsukauchi thinks that he's going to get himself killed because he does not hold the power that he once did, however, All Might reveals that it was his destiny to take on All For One in combat and he will fulfill it no matter the cost. With a final stand, All Might stepped into the path of All For One, declaring that he's here for everyone for one last time. Fans might remember that his dear friend, Sir Nighteye, foresaw his death using his Quirk a long time ago. Perhaps, the time is here for All Might to finally die, however, the reverse could also be just as true. Destiny can always be changed and All Might is surely one who can fight to change his destiny. Even though he's Quirkless, he can still be a hero and it looks like he will stop All For One at the cost of his life.
