The following contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 372, "Naked," by Kohei Horikoshi, translated by Caleb Cook available in English from Viz Media.

My Hero Academia continued strong with chapter 372 this week and the Final War saga of the story once again succeeded in keeping the fans at the edge of their seats. In the previous chapter, fans got to see a lot of focus being thrown on Spinner and Shoji. Towards the end, the two awakened new powers and went in for their final blows and this week's chapter picks up right from there.

Expectedly, a lot more focus was thrown on both of them once again. Fans even got to see another batch of short flashbacks from these two characters as this segment of the story prepares to finally wrap up. With that, My Hero Academia 372 delivered another powerful chapter. While it was certainly on the short end and a bit lacking when it comes to the action section, it had enough to make up for it.

Spinner Vs. Shoji

In the previous chapter of My Hero Academia, fans saw these two powerhouses collide with full force. Horikoshi made sure to deliver powerful flashbacks for both of these characters. Spinner has already been on the receiving end of that for the past few chapters and his character has been getting more compelling with each passing one. This similar treatment was also handed over to Shoji and, for a character who was quite dull up until recently, the previous chapter managed to add quite a bit to him.

Many fans were rooting for him and he certainly gained quite a few of them in the previous chapter. This week's chapter continued right from where the previous one left off. Fans got to see a flashback involving Shoji and Toji, both of which were then seen combining their forces in an attempt to take down Spinner. Present Mic also pitched and help them overwhelm Spinner in a very impressive combination attack. Sadly, this proved to be ineffective as Spinner was still able to stand and have the last laugh. For now, fans don't know what exactly happened to Toji and Shoji, however, Spinner was seen fine after the impact.

Shoji certainly tried to tug at Spinner's heart, being a fellow heteromorph, asking him for his final answer on how to solve the problems that his kind have always faced. However, Spinner appears to be consumed with the thought of revenge. At this point, vengeance flows through his veins and he rallied all the other heteromorphs behind him, at the same time, giving the message to fight with all their spirit. This only made them stronger and Spinner himself continued towards his goal. Fans then saw a flashback of All For One talking to Spinner. As evident already, All For One and Shigaraki have both played quite a significant role in shaping the character of Spinner. Putting their faith in him and entrusting important missions to him, he believes that he owes everything that he has to them and will bow out fighting for them to the very last breath. In the flashback, All For One tells him that the war that they are fighting will finally stop once he gets to Kurogiri and plays a recording with the voice of either him or Shigaraki Tomura.

Kurogiri's Role In The Arc

My Hero Academia 372 Kurogiri

Kurogiri has been an exceptionally important character in My Hero Academia. His abilities have always been extremely useful for the League of villains, however, following his capture, a lot more importance was attached to his character. This came especially after it was revealed that his true identity was none other than Shirakumo, one of the very close friends of Aizawa and Present Mic. After an unfortunate incident, he was forced to become an underling of All For One and has, since then, been working for him, quite likely against his own will. However, both his friends believe that he can be saved and still hold out hope to this day. All For One, on the other hand, seems to have other plans for him and requires him to see his goals get fulfilled.

This is precisely why he sent Spinner to the location where Kurogiri is being held at. Using his powers, he wants to further his goal which he believes he is very close to right now. In My Hero Academia 372, fans saw Spinner make his way to Kurogiri despite being heavily injured. The combined attack that the heroes launched on him seems to have done quite a number on him. However, he isn't down for the count just yet. By gathering whatever strength that he had left, he was able to get to his desired location and scream out Kurogiri's name.

At the very same time, however, Present Mic Also arrived at the location and screamed out for his friend, Shirakumo. With that, My Hero Academia 372 concluded, but not before giving fans a pan of Kurogiri's face. Judging by the way the chapter ended, it is quite likely that the next one will be focused heavily on the internal struggle of Shirakumo. His character arc has been one that has been silent in the background for quite a while now and it seems that the perfect time to wrap that up has arrived. My Hero Academia 372 did a fantastic job at setting that up if Horikoshi intends to wrap it up in the next few chapters. It is quite likely that Aizawa will also get involved in this segment and, hopefully, Shirakumo can be rescued. With that, this section of the Final War saga will conclude and the story will finally move towards the heavy hitters that fans are desperate to see continue combat in the likes of prime All for one, Deku, Shigaraki, Endeavor, among others.
