The Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series has now reached 10 million copies in print, Kadokawa announced on Monday. An anime adaptation of the standout isekai series recently concluded, no doubt contributing to its recent rise in popularity.

The series was first serialized as a web novel from 2012-2015 on the popular Japanese user-generated novel publishing website; Shōsetsuka ni Narou.

Rifujin na Magonote’s Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series began serialization in 2014 as a part of Media Factory’s MF Books imprint. The series features illustrations by Shirotaka and have amassed 25 volumes throughout its ongoing run. The original web novel series ended with its 25th volume.

The popularity of the light novels inspired a handful of manga spin-offs, including a manga adaptation illustrated by Yuka Fujikawa (Dokugan Ryuukai, Radiata Stories: The Epic of Jack). The Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation manga series began serialization in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Flapper magazine in 2014 and has amassed 15 tankōbon volumes throughout its run so far.

A spin-off series, Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious, began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Walker magazine in December 2017. The series is illustrated by Shoko Iwami (Kanamemo) and has amassed 6 tankōbon volumes. Another spin-off, Mushoku Tensei ~ 4-koma ni Natte mo Honki Dasu, ran in ASCII Media Works’ Comic Dengeki Daioh "G" magazine from 2018-2020, amassing 3 tankōbon volumes.

A 23-episode anime adaptation from Studio Bind was released in 2021, with the first cour airing during the winter 2021 season, and the second during the Fall 2021 season. Manabu Okamoto (Gamers!, Darling in the FranXX) directed and wrote the series’ script, with Yoshiaki Fujisawa (No Game No Life: Zero, Love Live! Superstar!!) composing.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the light novels, manga adaptation, and Roxy Gets Serious spin-off manga in English. The anime series is licensed by Funimation overseas who also streamed it as it aired in Japan.
