7 Ghislaine And Rudeus Vs. Kidnappers
To make money to pay for Sylvie’s tuition, Rudeus needed a job. He was to become a mentor for Eris Boreas Greyrat. However, Eris proved too feisty to handle, as she stubbornly refused to learn anything from Rudeus and beat him up. To trick Eris into learning, Rudeus came up with a plan that backfired.
He planned to put Eris in a situation where magic would be necessary. However, Rudeus’ proxy kidnappers turned out to be real. Although he tried his best to get away from them with magic and tricks, he almost lost his life. Thankfully, Ghislaine swooped in just in time and ended the kidnappers with a single blow. Although brief, the single exchange between Ghislaine and the kidnappers showed the Sword King’s strength.
6 Dead End Vs. Redhood Cobra
Shortly after Eris and Rudeus met Ruijerd and the Dead End Party was formed, money became a problem. To earn money, Dead End took on a variety of missions. One of the many missions led to them confronting a Redhood Cobra. The cobra was large with thick skin; however, Dead End had confidence in their skills and attacked.
The battle against the Redhood Cobra would have proved difficult for young Rudeus and Eris. However, the addition of Ruijerd tipped the scales. With his immense physical prowess, Ruijerd stopped the Redhood Cobra, allowing Eris to slice it apart before Rudeus blew it apart with his magic. Seeing Ruijerd's physical might made the battle one for the fans to appreciate.
5 Ghislaine Vs. Almanfi
Almanfi, the servant spirit familiar of the Armored Dragon King Perugius Dola, was sent to the site of the mana cataclysm to kill anyone who looked suspicious. Upon getting there, Almanfi found Ghislaine, Rudeus, and Eris. Proclaiming Rudeus to be suspicious, Almanfi set out for his head. However, Ghislaine intervened.
Almanfi proved more than capable of keeping up with Ghislaine, and continually attacked until Ghislaine proclaimed they had nothing to do with the huge swelling of mana in the sky. After stating her Sword King status and swearing at her teacher, the Sword God, Almanfi believed her and did not pursue Rudeus anymore. Though the fight was short, Almanfi proved capable of keeping up with a sword king. This left fans intrigued about his identity and the master behind him.
4 Eris Vs. Gyes Dedoldia
Upon leaving the Beast Man village, Sword King Ghislaine’s hometown, Ghislaine’s brother Gyes requested a spar with Eris Greyrat. He requested the spar to see the extent of Ghislaine’s sword teaching in Eris. Happy to prove Ghislaine’s name, Eris obliged.
The duel was extremely short-lived, lasting only a single clash. However, with swords crossed, both parties effectively communicated the depth of their feelings concerning the sword and Ghislaine. Although the battle was short, fans of Mushoku Tensei would remember it. Expert swordsmen do not need a flurry of blows to prove themselves, and that battle proved it.
3 Eris Vs. Ruijerd Final Sparring Session
Eris and Rudeus met Ruijerd, who served as their bodyguard, trainer, and friend, after they were transported to the Demon continent. During their travels, Ruijerd trained Eris and Rudeus in the art of physical warfare. Physical combat is Eris’ forte. Although Ruijerd and Eris sparred frequently, their final match left a particularly strong effect on viewers.
As Eris and Ruijerd duked it out in episode 21, sparks flew as they crossed swords. Eris almost managed to land a hit on Ruijerd, but was eventually defeated. Despite Eris losing, Ruijerd proclaimed that she had the strength of a full-grown warrior and allowed her to call herself a warrior from that day forward.
2 Rudeus And The Sacred Beast Leo Vs. Gallus
During his many adventures, Rudeus came across slave traders who traded in beast people. After being mistakenly identified as a slave trader, Rudeus set out to clear his name when the beast people's village was attacked.
Unfortunately, Rudeus almost cowered at the sight of Gallus, a North God Sword-style user. However, after the brave attack by the Sacred Beast Leo, Rudeus picked up his staff, for better or worse. During their battle, Rudeus used the earth's terrain to his advantage. Ultimately, Rudeus was victorious in the battle, and he proved himself capable of saving children when in trouble.
1 Dead End Vs. Orsted
Ruijerd, Eris, and Rudeus rose to fame as the group Dead End and gained notoriety for their power and Ruijerd's status as a Superd. However, when they encountered the second-ranked dragon god, they saw how outclassed they were.
After first encountering Orsted, the dragon god showed no interest in them other than casually mentioning their names. However, after randomly asking Rudeus if the name Man God meant anything to him and the latter confirming so, Orsted attacked. And he beat the trio silly. Although Rudeus managed to fire off a powerful fireball, that did not prevent his inevitable death. Rudeus only survived after Orsted revived him after. The fight between Orsted and Dead End was showcased the peak of battle so far in Mushoku Tensei.
