Fans of the Scooby-Doo franchise would be very aware of what and how capable Ms.Velma Dinkley is. The brunette in her iconic orange sweaters and miniskirt is the brains of Mystery Inc. and is well known for her ability to crack the case even before the final reveal.
MultiVersus stays true to her cartoon traits and has her classified under the support class. Her character comes into the entire limelight in 2pv2p modes, and her array of perks provides buffs to her allies in desperate times of need.
Basic Attacks
Move Type | Move Name | Description |
Neutral Ground | Supportive Words | A word bubble Projectile that seeks nearby characters - allies or foes on first contact. In such a case, the character in contact is set as a target for the entire duration, and additional bubbles are attracted to them automatically. In a scenario where the chosen character is an ally, they are provided with the "Hastened" ability for a brief period. This move is based upon the ammo number and can be repeated until the ammo is depleted. |
Neutral Air | Supportive Words | Same as ‘Neutral Ground’ |
Side Ground | Quip Master | Not much to add here. Velma resorts to sledging, which deals damage to the opponents. |
Side Air | Light’Em Up | A supercharged move where Velma equips a flashlight that has a chance to spawn evidence on contact with the foe. |
Up Ground | Bright Idea | A supercharged move where Velma charges an idea bulb overhead that has a chance to spawn evidence on contact with the enemy foe. |
Up Air | Bright Air-Dea | The move and its benefits remain the same as the "Bright Idea” but does not require a supercharge. |
Down Ground | Calculated Victory | A supercharged move where Velma fires out a calculation that deals damage to the foe while spawning evidence upon impact. |
Down Air | My Glasses | A ‘Jinkies, I lost my glasses” throwback to the old Scooby Doo cartoons. Velma drops her glasses and knocks down any foe in front of her while she tries to find them back. |
Special Attacks
Move Type | Move Name | Description |
Neutral Ground Special | Motivational Speaker | Velma fires a long-range speech beam that has a super combo hit effect on the enemies while healing any and all nearby allies. In case of an ally being the final contact, the beam gets one last stand, growing into a more brawny beam from there on. On the other hand, with the final impact being an enemy, the impacted character would face a weakened debuff. The beam can be directed both up and down with the player's input. It is also to be noted that any foe hit by her beam is marked for the next word bubbles and has the chance to spawn evidence on hit. |
Neutral Air Special | Same as ‘Neutral Ground Special’ | |
Side Ground Special | Fast Thinker | A supercharged move where Velma sprints forward in the direction faced. Allies in her path can spring into Velma's arms. This would increase the overall DPS of the movie while granting Velma and her ally in arms, a point of armor, and temporary health. On the other hand, any foes caught in the path would be thrown upwards at the end of the move. |
Side Air Special | Hit The Books | Velma brings out and sends forward a textbook projectile that jolts back enemies upon contact. |
Up Ground Special | Toxic Concoction | Velma spills toxic goo and the ground and springs upwards away from it. Any or all enemies falling onto the goo will be battered by a slowed debuff and progress on to getting completely frozen. |
Up Air Special | Shutterbug | Velma clicks a picture facing downwards with a camera that acts as a projectile propelling her and nearby enemies upwards while breaking any or all enemy armor. It also hands out broken armor debuff on impact and opens up foes to deal significant damage and knock back. |
Down Ground Special | Spread The Knowledge | Velma fires out a book projectile that hooks onto her ally. This would provide Velma and ally with the projectile on and receive an educated buff. Provides benefits like a shorter cooldown. |
Down Air Special | Same as ‘Down Ground Special” |
