MultiVersus has gotten the attention of gamers since its beta began. While the beta will not open up to the public until July 26, players have been securing early access through Founder’s Pack pre-orders and viewing Twitch streams that have drops enabled. While some were skeptical about the game upon learning of its premise, the random cast of characters being so well-designed has won many over - even if the microtransactions are becoming a source of controversy.

Two of the most enjoyable characters in MultiVersus are Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, the lovable protagonists from Adventure Time. Both characters are unique and utilize some of their same moves from the beloved animated series, and they shine particularly well when paired together in the game’s 2v2 mode. However, Jake and Finn are not the only Adventure Time characters that would make awesome playable characters.

Adventure Time Content That Should Come To MultiVersus

While leaks regarding MultiVersus’ post-launch roster have not made mention of more Adventure Time additions, there are many options available to Player First Games. For instance, Marceline the Vampire Queen is begging to be a playable character in a fighting game. Half demon and half vampire, her ability to turn into a bat seems like a perfect signature move. Her fondness for music could also lead to some fun abilities, with players buffing themselves and their allies by playing songs like “I’m Just Your Problem.”

Princess Bubblegum is another fun possibility, as her capabilities as a scientist would allow her to wield a variety of gadgets during a fight. From the Electrode gun to her banana guards, players could see some more references made to Adventure Time through her move set. Seeing her team-up with Marceline would surely make a lot of fans happy as well. Further, the Princess’s loyal servant Peppermint Butler would be another fun character to play as. An expert with dark magic and an extremely powerful character in his own right, he would be a good contrast to the previously leaked Gandalf and his brand of magic.

Two other characters seem like valid options, and they are Ice King and Flame Princess. Allowing players to wield the powers of fire and ice makes perfect sense, and even if Scorpion and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat do end up being added, enough can be done with both elements to justify characters with similar powers. Ice King would work beyond his ice abilities, too, as he could summon Gunter just like how Finn calls upon BMO in MultiVersus. Perhaps he could briefly transform enemy players using his fan fiction talents, making his move set even more diverse.

Alongside extra playable characters, more stages based on the Land of Ooo could be introduced. Jake and Finn’s treehouse is perfectly recreated within MultiVersus, and hearing the main theme is sure to put a smile on any Adventure Time fan’s face. However, the show features many iconic areas. The Candy Kingdom is begging to become a stage, as is the Earldom of Lemongrab. Even the Time Room could be fun, with players battling around Prismo.

The Adventure Time universe is full of interesting lore and lovable characters, meaning that MultiVersus has only scratched the surface. Considering that there are four DC characters on the launch roster, and several more supposedly coming after launch, it would be nice to see the other franchises featured in the game get that same level of love. Adventure Time in particular could provide so much more than a stage and two characters, so hopefully new locations from Ooo and playable fighters like Marceline will eventually join the fray.

MultiVersus is available now via Twitch Drops on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S with a full release later this year.
