As a leading competitor fresh to the fighting game scene, MultiVersus is set to explore the many franchises under Warner Bros. belt. The game itself seems heavily inspired by the famed Nintendo fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Yet, to fight against or with friends as Batman and Bugs Bunny is the ridiculous kind of fun that the gaming scene needs, considering collaborations seem infinite in games like Fortnite.
The platform fighter allows players to fulfill their fantasy matchup dreams, with more characters to be announced to add to the already iconic roster. Each fighter brings their unique style and dynamic to the game.
19 Rick Sanchez
As a nihilistic mega-genius, Rick Sanchez features in the adult animated series Rick and Morty. The character is famed for his alcoholism, green portal gun, turning himself into a pickle, and being able to outthink anyone in the multiverse.
Rick is no stranger to the space/time continuum and has saved it, begrudgingly, dozens of times. As a Mage / Ranged character, Rick offers a lot of science to the game.
18 Morty Smith
Always accompanied by his grandfather, Rick Sanchez, Morty Smtih puts the “aw geez” in any fight. Morty has been dragged across the universe, and now, thanks to MultiVersus, he’s been dragged into a multiverse battle with a plethora of characters.
Morty is a Bruiser character in the game and will most likely be seen apologizing or whining with each punch he throws. This is, of course, due to his optimistic and innocent approach to the universe.
17 LeBron James
With many NBA titles, MVPs, and Olympic Gold medals to his name, LeBron James has his legacy to behold. The real-life person is a champion of basketball and is regarded as a great teammate to have on one’s team.
LeBron features in MultiVersus thanks to his wild adventure in Space Jam: A New Legacy as part of the Tune Squad. As a Bruiser, players can expect LeBron to pack a serious punch with his allies.
16 The Iron Giant
The Iron Giant crash-landed off the shore of Rockwell, Maine, in 1957, and found his human heart after being discovered by a young boy named Hogarth Hughes. The Iron Giant may have been built as a weapon, but with his inspiration from his idol Superman, he is far from a weapon.
The Iron Giant is a defender of the innocents, and as a Tank character, will do anything to emulate his hero. The Iron Giant’s film is ripe with heart and powerful emotion, and it’s great to see him return for this game.
15 The Tasmanian Devil
It may be impossible to understand the gibberish that Taz speaks, but as a Bruiser character, it isn’t his words that players need to look out for. Taz is known for his “Taz-nado,” where he spins in a ball of manic energy.
Calming him down is a wise choice, as Taz can be as sweet as a kitten, but that’s practically impossible on the hyperactive battlefield of MultiVersus for this Looney Tunes character.
14 Velma Dinkley
As one of the leading and intelligent members of Mystery, Inc., Velma certainly knows how to solve a mystery involving a masked ghost. Yet, MultiVersus puts her brawn to the test as she performs her Support role for the game.
There will be Jinkies galore with Velma on the platform battlegrounds. Coming from the Scooby-Doo franchise, there are plenty of glasses to be lost with all the mayhem going on.
13 Arya Stark
As the third child to Eddard and Catelyn Stark, Game of Thrones saw Arya rejecting being a lady married to a knight in favor of becoming the knight herself. Armed with her sword, Needle, this Assassin character will intimidate all who enter the battle against her.
Arya has transformed into a deadly swordsman thanks to the Faceless Man and now seeks revenge on the many people of Westeros that betrayed the Stark family. Hopefully, the characters in MultiVersus are not on that list.
12 Batman
The World’s Greatest Detective, The Caped Crusader, The Dark Knight. The DC Comics character Batman has more titles than he has gadgets in his utility belt. Bruce Wayne’s life would forever change after witnessing the murder of his parents in Gotham City. Now, Bruce protects Gotham as Batman.
Batman’s dedication pays off, considering he has no superhuman abilities other than his sheer will. Batman is a powerful fighter and proves such as a Bruiser character.
11 Bugs Bunny
An enduring icon, Bugs Bunny is the leading star of the Looney Tunes franchise. Always seen with intense wit and a carrot to munch on, Bugs Bunny makes sure it is always Duck Season when he is around.
Bugs is a Mage / Ranged fighter and one who seems completely unphased by the looney antics of a multiverse fight. There’s an intense, wacky battle to be had with Bugs as a friend or foe.
10 Finn The Human
As an Assassin character, Finn the Human will slay anything evil; it’s his deal. Coming from the post-apocalyptic world of the Land of Ooo in Adventure Time, Finn is a young warrior who loves quests and adventures.
Finn has quite the temper, but no rage will bound him away from the forces of good. Finn will always be out seeking villainy, and his foes better watch out.
9 Garnet
As a protector of Earth and a character with great rhythm, Garnet is the combination of Ruby and Saphhire from Steven Universe. She is the leader of the Crystal Gems, a group of extraterrestrial rebels with unique powers.
Garnet is known to be quite the puncher, and being a Bruiser is the perfect class for Garnet to prove just how fierce a warrior she can be.
8 Harley Quinn
Love makes you do crazy things, and in Harley Quinn’s case, it can make someone stop their promising career as a psychiatrist to enter a world of villainy. Harley Quinn has played both sides of morality and settles as an anti-hero.
It’s unwise to leave a back exposed to Harley Quinn because it’s unclear whether she will hug it, stab it, or punch it, especially as an Assassin character from this DC Comics jester.
7 Jake The Dog
Venturing from the wild of Adventure Time, Jake the Dog and Finn the Human are an inseparable duo of best friends and brothers. Jake the Dog has great stretchy powers, which will come in handy due to his Bruiser style.
Jake leads a happy life for himself as a hero and adventurer and has a great love for punching major bad guy butts. It’s best to be on this stretchy yellow dog’s team.
6 Reindog
Appearing for the first time in MultiVersus, Reindog is a Support character who has existed for over 165 years. With an origin from planet Zanifeer, Reindog saw his home fall victim to the Nothing during the great dimensional cataclysm.
As a Royal Guardian, Reindog proves that not all things fluffy and sweet are defenseless as Reindog continues to search for ways to bring back his long-lost beloved family.
5 Shaggy
Either seen with his best friend Scooby-Doo or with a sandwich in his hand, Shaggy is usually seen shouting “ZOINKS” at anything that looks threatening. Yet, as a Bruiser, Shaggy will be turning the tables and making others shout “ZOINKS.”
This Scooby-Doo character was possessed with incredible and unknown power; Shaggy has vowed to use his new sets of cosmic power to vanquish evil and protect the little guy. Just don’t get in the way of his lunch.
4 Steven Universe
Half-human, half-Gem, all hero. Steven Universe is the only known hybrid of humans and Gem, spinning himself into a destiny that not even he could predict. Steven finds many friends and lessons across his journeys of the cosmos.
As a Support character, Steven helps show those on his team how big of a heart he has and how his unstoppable optimism and Gem powers will save the day.
3 Superman
As the original superhero, the last son of Krypton, and a founding member of the Justice League, Superman is the person that every hero aspires to be. Superman is greater than his incredible powers, and as a Tank character, will support his team as a hero would.
DC Comics character, Superman, is a true inspiration to heroes old and new and won’t let anyone hurt the many innocents of the universe. Hopefully, no characters in MultiVersus bring Kryptonite to any of the maps.
2 Tom And Jerry
Putting aside their differences, the frenemies of Tom and Jerry can be fierce opponents as Mage / Ranged characters. A cat and mouse should be mortal cartoon enemies, but Tom and Jerry prove that anything could work.
The duo may fight with zany and madcap, but their mayhem is destructive enough to put anyone in their path in harm’s way.
1 Wonder Woman
An Amazon Princess, a Daughter of Zeus, Wonder Woman is one of the mightiest heroes to grace not only DC Comics but the entire multiverse. Wonder Woman is a feminist icon, being one of the most famous female superheroes. She comes as a Tank, armed with a sword and shield to battle evil in MultiVersus.
As a champion of peace and a compassionate leader, Wonder Woman should be both feared by evil and respected by good. Countless villains will see the error in their ways once they cross paths with Wonder Woman.
